Home2Home: Where Your Pet is Family
Pet care experience
How I Got Here: I decided to start fostering dogs after my dog LuLu passed away because I’m not ready to to face that potential heartbreak again but life is not the same without a furry pup running around the house. This has given me the opportunity to work with rescued dogs to help prepare them for their forever families. I came to the realization that when I get another dog I would want them to get the same home experience as my foster dogs if I was out of town. This lead me to Rover and I decided to offer my services during times that I’m not fostering. My Experience: Growing up both on a farm and in an urban household I've been caring for animals all of my life. Animals including chickens, geese, goats, working dogs to house dogs. I am currently a foster for two dog rescue organizations and have worked with dogs as young as 7 weeks to senior pups. I understand how important routine can be for a dog when there are big changes. My goal is to provide a similar lifestyle to the one your pup is used to.
Reviews
Andie is a true animal lover! The way she picks up on their personalities and caters to their needs is the best feeling a pet owner could ask for. I can’t thank her enough for all her help with my three dogs (all at once!). Highly recommend!!
Andie was very communicative and sent photos everyday! I knew my dog was well taken care of at her home.
Andie was super nice and our dog liked staying with her! I'd book with her again! :)
Very pleased. Treated our dogs like they were her own. Our dogs get excited when we arrive at her house and they have so much fun they hardly notice when we leave.

Our Home: My son and I live a suburban neighborhood in Tualatin. My daughter is in her second year at OSU. We do not have any other pets or small children in our home. We allow dogs on the couch if that is what they are used at home. We have a large, fenced, backyard and love playing fetch with our guests. We have a great neighborhood for walks plus our local park has some nice paths to explore and it’s only 8 blocks away. Our home is carpet free except for a few bedrooms (which we keep closed from pets). We believe that an appropriately exercised pet is a happier pet and tends to have fewer behavior issues. Our goal is to maintain the activity level your dog is used to with frequent walks, backyard play, basic training, etc… you are the expert on your dog so we will work with you to develop an activity plan. I am American Red Cross Pet First Aid and CPR certified. I have also completed the hands-on certification for Pet First Aid and CPR with Oregon CPR.
Information Andie F. would like to know about your pet
Eating and bathroom schedule/habits Energy level (low, medium, high) Reactions to new people - do's and dont's of meeting your dog Behaviors when owner is away (separation anxiety, moodiness, barking) What calms your pet down Favorite playtime activities and toys How much physical attention do they prefer? Cuddler or no cuddler How often do you want updates? I want to provide the best care for your dog and it's helpful to know the tips and tricks for interacting with your dog. I also need to know about fears or other things they react to. I am happy to accommodate dogs with special needs as long as I know, or you teach me, what to do.
A typical day
We typically begin our day with potty time, coffee for Andie, and a walk to the park. After exercising we do training time (basic commands) and then breakfast. If they still have energy we go outside and play games (fetch, tug, tease pole, etc...) If they're calm we do quiet time, they rest and I grade papers. We rotate through walks, play, and quiet time depending on your dogs energy level. I use different techniques and toys to keep them engaged. I try and do at least 2 10-15 minute basic training/practice sessions each day. In the evenings I invite them to cuddle (they can cuddle throughout the day too!) while I read or watch TV. I will adjust the schedule so that it is similar to what your dog is used to - the more they are confident in the routine and know what to expect the more comfortable they'll be.

Availability
I have a flexible schedule but I’m usually home Thursday through Sunday. I plan to be home when we have furry guests except for short errands and such. Other days I’m available periodically - please contact me if you need an exception to the Thurs-Sun schedule.
