Hey there! I'm here because making dogs happy makes me happy like nothing else. I want to get to know your pooch and treat them like the superhero you've always known s/he is. My life's work isn't actually my writing career, it's a compendium of the favorite musical genres of every dog I've ever met. My first dog, Clifford, was the sweetest white schnauzer you would have ever met. I'm still confused as to why I named him after the Big Red Dog, but naming was not one of my skills as a child. In college, I spent a year taking care of a puppy, Char, through the longest year of any dog's life ... the teething! Then, one humid summer morning in central Florida, my then-roommate turned best friend showed up at home with a new dog. Four hours of argument later and he was named Django, for Django Reinhart (this was when Django Unchained came out and we've never heard the end of that one). Django had been badly abused in his previous home and suffered from severe anxiety, nightmares, and PTSD. We bonded immediately and, when I moved out, he eloped with me. He no longer cries out at raised arms or loud noises, easily lets me wake him from nightmares, and I think he finally knows he's loved. Because of him, I take "be the person your dog thinks you are" very seriously. Now I live with him and two other dogs, a Beagle-Basset named Bagel and another beautiful, fluffy mutt. We're all very friendly and active (said beautiful mutt and I love to go for runs to the nearby forest trails) and I could not imagine a more welcoming home.
