Pet care experience
Hello, I am a graduate student at UChicago and live in Hyde Park! I am a huge dog lover looking to make memorable moments with all of your fluffy loved ones. If I had the time, I would have pets myself, but for now I'm hoping I can help other owners with their dogs! I live near Stout Park (unfenced dog park) and Elm Park (fenced) and would be more than happy to walk pets around my neighborhood. I usually take a walk everyday around the neighborhood or to the lakefront, which makes it extremely convenient for me to have your pets tag along. My apartment is spacious and pets are free to roam anywhere they'd like. I grew up with 4 dogs in my household so I know how much love and attention they need. My roommate has a cat who spends most of his time in the bedroom and simply will leave your pets alone if he's left alone (doesn't spend much time out in the common spaces). I also have been a Rover pet-sitter for the past 4 and a half years and have grown to love it! I also offer drop-in visits to take pets out for potty breaks or to walk them (whichever route you prefer). I’ve pet-sat for several families and am more than happy to provide references for you if you’d like to work with me. Thank you so much :)

Anahi did a fantastic job watching our dog Snickers for a few days in her home. She kept us updated the entire time and sent us photos of him. Snickers seemed to love her as well, I felt very safe leaving him with her and I would definitely use her services again!
I’m always cautious of having someone new watch my dog, Cashew, but I knew she was in good hands with Anahi. She sent me pictures and updates of how she was doing which set my mind at ease. In all the pictures she looked happy and right at home! On my way back from my weekend getaway, I was running behind to pick up Cashew and Anahi was so flexible and understanding. Would definitely recommend :)
Anahi was great! She took care of my 4 month old Husky and sent me updates every hour or two, walked him, and was very communicative!
Anahi was super communicative in boarding my pup and was flexible when it came to timing! Would recommend her again

Pets are able to roam around the house if they'd like or can also crate your pet if that is what you prefer. I am flexible and will adapt to the owner's preferences! If you have an indoor cat, I am very conscious of making sure they do not leave the home and that all doors remain closed. I will also be able to provide photos and tracking of the routes I take with your dog during the whole visit.

In advance, please let me know if there are any schedules your pet follows so that I can make sure I can exceed your standards. I really strive to make sure your comfortable with how I take care of your loved pets and that I am also comfortable with them!
A typical day
During a stay with me, I can offer you to take your pets on a walk with myself and with my roommates (who also seek pet attention whenever they have the chance). I can also go to the neighborhood dog park near where I live. If your pet is more adventurous, I am willing to even drive us to local trails around me!

Availability
During the weekends, I have no other responsibilities so I am complely free Friday afternoons - Monday mornings. During the week, I have classes/work but am able to take small breaks to go home during work hours (I live very close to school). I also have a lot more flexibility and availability during the summer. As a researcher, my schedule is flexible and varies from day to day.
