Pet care experience
I'm a physical therapist with a flexible schedule who LOVES dogs, and would love to take care of your beloved family member. I've been caring for dogs nearly all my life. I have my own four legged buddy, his name is Hudson. He is an energetic flat coated retriever and he would love extra company of other dogs that can go with him for long walks and play with him while I study at home and keep an eye on them. My building is pet friendly. Close to dog parks, easy access to green areas, where they can play and have fun. About this sitter: My schedule is very flexible. Available to take care of your pet 24/7 since I study and work from home. I would be happy to follow through any special instruction and routine that your pet needs. I love going on long walks/ jogs with dogs and I will make sure to keep you updated about the stay of your furry friend at my home. Since I have my own dog, in the case that you need house sitting would mind having Hudson and I at your place? Why I love dog sitting: I grew up with a sweet schnauzer. A few years ago I moved to DC with my beloved golden retriever. Today I'm mother of my flat coated retriever. I just can't get enough of loving and caring for these loyal friends that give us so much love in return. My experience administering medication: My dog has a sensitive stomach, so I'm also experienced administering medication.

Ana did a fantastic job watching our dog in our home. He had some last minute health issues that made it more difficult for her, and she handled it cheerfully and without a problem when I wouldn't have faulted her for backing out. She was great about giving him medicine and was very attentive to his health issues. I can't recommend her highly enough.

I would love to know: Your pet's feeding schedule, medications, their exercise needs and activity levels, how they are with other dogs, what are the cues you use and how you reward or correct your dog, walking on the leash, and your veterinarian's information in case of emergency. I feel comfortable working with: friendly dogs that get along with other dogs and humans. Potty trained pups. I love all kinds of breeds. I don't feel comfortable working with: dogs with separation anxiety that tend to bark too much. And also dogs with aggressive behaviors.
A typical day
Here's where we'll take our walks: We go for morning and evening long walks in the neighborhood, maybe a visit to the dog park at The Yards if your dog gets along well with other pups. Your dog's sleeping arrangement: Your dog can sleep at the foot of the bed. Time I'll spend with your dog: I have all the time, attention and love your pet needs. Time to play, cuddle, let them take naps wherever they prefer. I would be happy to follow through any routine that your pet needs. It is important to me to give your pet as much attention as possible to make the transition to a new place easier on them.
