May 3rd 2016, I completed an 8month pet/housesitting job in the Broadmoor neighborhood. (reference available.) ABOUT ME: By day, I work for a DoD contractor (so I can pass a background check). I’m the Executive Assistant to the CEO and President. I’ve been in the Springs area for 4 years, originally from the Ozarks. I’ve had cats and dogs all my life. I’ve been pet-sitting or housesitting since college (late 90s). Ten years ago, my husband and I decided to ‘only’ have fur-babies. We have a [sterile] geriatric herd of two female lab mixes. Though our girls are older, they assume every dog they meet is a potential playmate. We’ve always socialized our dogs, when we have company we always ask them bring their dogs to visit too. When pet-sitting young puppies (pending the homeowner agrees), I like to bring one of my older girls to help speed the potty-training process. The puppy watches, and picks up on the clues my older girls give which reinforces “proper potty procedure.” (reference available.) This helps to ensure no progress is lost during your absence. My vet calls me a “cat whisperer.” Cats [of all ages] are drawn to me whether I’m coming out of the bank, deep in a box-store parking lot or the middle of nowhere...they find me. Older pets with lots of meds are not an issue for me (pending there isn’t a 'time-sensitive' dose that falls in during my workday, that’s my only constraint).
