They stay down stairs most of the time; that makes it great when I watch other dogs to limit fighting and conflict. I have a doggy door for small to medium sized dogs, so your puppy can come and go as they please but have a huge fenced in back yard. I have a newborn baby that constantly stays stuck to me. If your dog enjoys chasing after deer and squirrels, there’s more than plenty of room here. Also, they will get a lot of action from the squirrels and deer. ?
