Pet care experience
I grew up in a family where we always had a family pet, which means I have been taking care of cats and dogs for over 10 years. Periodically I have been asked by neighbors and friends over the years to make drop-in visits, or in the past have also stayed overnight in friends’ homes with their pets. I have been relied on by friends and family to ensure that their pet is loved and looked after whenever they’ve needed some extra help.

When I take my dog Kira on walks, we only try and do them in the mornings and/or evenings when it is cooler outside. It can get too warm outside, and I am also conscious of how warm the pavement can be or the possibility of heat stroke. I have a fenced in yard where during the day I will let dogs outside to play, but stay aware of how long they are outside.

It would preferable to know of any behaviors the dog exhibits while on walks, or if there are any behaviors that you are working on changing so that I can keep a consistent routine for you and your pet. My dog Kira used to be a reactive dog on walks, and so behaviors such, as this, I am accustomed to.
A typical day
One of my favorite things to do is to take dogs to the beach, and just like to go on walks around the neighborhood. I am not in favor of dog parks generally; I think that they pose as an unsafe environment much of the time. During the day, I also like to provide mental stimulation such as some basic training with treats, or hiding treats in blankets or Kongs.

Availability
Currently I am a full-time online student getting a Bachelors degree in Fisheries and Wildlife Sciences. I do not have scheduled class times, so my schedule is very flexible. At home, my routine with our pup is to walk her in the morning and evening when it is cooler, with some other stimulating activities during the day time inside. Overall, my schedule is flexible for meeting daily pet care needs.
