Caring & Dedicated Vet Tech in HEB

Pet care experience

I am a vet tech in the N. Arlington area transplanted from Portland, OR. I've practiced veterinary medicine over the last fifteen years in different capacities. I've worked in Oncology, Wildlife Rehab, Pet Sitting, and most recently in small animal holistic medicine. Integrative medicine is where my passion lies. It is very rewarding to participate in improving the quality of life for dogs and cats through non-invasive modalities such as laser therapy, acupuncture, massage, herbs and diet changes. I enjoy pet sitting because it allows me to be available for my children while still being filled with the joy of caring for the tail-waggers of this world. The ones who remind us that life is consistently bright. I currently work from home making me available for day-time visits/walks/medications and lots of loving attention for my overnight guests. I have a small, fenced yard as well as a dog park and miles of walking trails in my neighborhood. I enjoy a good run so if your pet is one that needs a few miles of energy burn, I can always use a running buddy. Your pet will be part of our family. My boys (ages 9 and up) are great sources of energy and companionship for your pet too and are well versed in practicing kindness with animals. Guaranteed your pet will be smothered in love with little time to feel lonely and blue. You'll be kept up-to-date with pictures and texts if desired. I'm happy to care for your senior, special needs pets and am comfortable medicating, administering fluids, preparing special diets and caring for diabetics. I'm available for doggy daycare, daily walks/adventures, vet appointments, and/or overnight care in my home. Dependent on your pet's comfort level, I am also able to trim nails, bathe, express anal glands, clean ears, brush teeth, etc. Fees available upon request. *Small pets welcome too (hamsters, bunnies, guinea pigs, lizards, etc). We love them all! About my four-legged love: I have one dog, Decker, in his senior years. He spends most of his days being an old man (Eat, sleep, dream, repeat). He gets along very well with others and is extremely mild mannered.

Amy has been great with our puppy and she keeps us informed. It gives us a sense of relief when my husband and I are at work all day.

I am so glad I found Amy to watch Cooper. He is a very nervous dog and she put him and myself at ease. Will definitely use again!

Information Amy S. would like to know about your pet

There is a senior dog and children (ages 9 and up) in the home so your dog will need to be dog and child friendly. The home is also a mix of carpet/tile so would prefer dogs to be house-trained. I understand that accidents will happen, especially with a nervous dog, but they should be consistently eliminating outdoors. Dogs are required to be on monthly flea/tick prevention and proof of prevention may be requested. I want to know everything about your fur baby. What makes him/her excited, anxious, wag his tail and tuck her tail? Any triggers? What are his favorite games? What are her sleeping and eating preferences? Special snacks and toys? What are his naughty behaviors? Trash stealer, digger, chewer, escape artist, howler, sock eater? What tricks has he mastered and like to show off? What are your questions and concerns? You know your dog best and the more you communicate to me about her likes/dislikes the better her experience will be when she's away from home.
