Hello I am Amy. I live in McCormick Ranch in Scottsdale where I've lived for 15 years. My home has a lovely backyard with trees and grass where my own two dogs, Shaggs and T-Bear love to roam and play. McCormick Ranch also allows me 3 different accesses to its beautiful greenbelt just from my street alone where I can take walks to Mountain View Park and back without ever being on the road, sidewalks and paths only. It has huge trees, grassy areas where I can take dogs on a small morning walk even in the summer before it reaches 98 deg. I grew up on a large farm in Northern California where we had cats and dogs of our own and where I learned how to handle just about every kind of dog situation, as many animals were simply dropped off and abandoned by their owners where they wandered onto our farm looking for food and shelter. So I have fostered animals and dealt with both happy and mistreated dogs alike. I have taken two sets of dog training classes and am always striving to learn more. My own dogs are truly my family and I will treat your dog like my own, absolutely. I am happy and glad to go to peoples' homes to do day visits but I do not stay overnight as I have my family at home and my own dogs here to take care of.

Amy's a natural with animals and shared her love and attention to my pups as if they were her own. She sent me pics and updates on how they were doing while I was away to make me feel comfortable and relaxed. I hope Amy is available next time I'm out of town.

Hello, my name is Lorrie and I am a former neighbor and long time friend of Amy Sandys. She is a wonderful mother who cares deeply for her family including her two adorable dogs! She is a dog lover through and through and has cared for my dogs overs the years when we have taken trips out of town. One of my dogs has serious medical problems as well! She cared for him and managed all of his medications without a problem. Amy is kind, considerate and a very good listener of both humans and animals alike! My clients' dogs range from smaller to medium dogs. Rarely do I sit very large dogs but that is only because I don't see too many come through too often. As long as the dogs can get along and form a trusting relationship with me and the other dogs, I really don't care about the size as I have plenty of room with a maximum number of 6 dogs to stay overnight and 8 for daytime. I like to be outside in my backyard so the dogs are with me except in the summer when I'm only out in the morning or when the dogs need to relieve themselves. I also like to be out walking a few dogs at a time when the weather is nicer and take them on the greenbelt. I can go to peoples' homes to feed and check on their animals but I do not do overnight stays at peoples' homes as I have my family at home and my own dogs here to take care of.
A typical day
Dogs, like people, are very individual. I have one active dog and one laid back dog at home. My dog sitting style is very much in the middle where if the dogs are more active I try and let them be active and play, but if a dog is older and not so active, I may just let them be unless instructed by the owner to get their pet more active and playful. Most dogs really like the company of other dogs and/or people and I keep them near me and we are together all day except for short periods of time when I pick my son up from school. I like to talk out loud to animals as though we are having a conversation and try to get to know each animal's unique personality.
