Canine buddy and exercise!

Pet care experience

Hello, I'm Amy. I currently have three dogs - Cassie, Kahlo, and Tuvok. Cassie's very well socialized and friendly but if yours is not as social, that's ok too - she's a pretty sweet, quiet girl who love being outside, with her people or in the house and keeping watch on our street. Kahlo is a lab mix and former rescue from a hoarding situation by two med students and then when they matched in surgery in San Francisco, we adopted him from them! He's an older guy as well who's on the shy side but definitely has a playful and a snuggly side! And then Tuvok is our youngest guy. He's a German Shepherd and we got him in January 2022 as just a little guy. He's a LOT bigger now but loves to play, going to walks, and training (especially if it involves treats!!!) I recently lost my dog Ein, who was older but acted like a puppy, and had developed diabetes (and cataracts as a result so unfortunately couldn't see) but because of him, I am well versed in giving both oral and injectable medications. Ein lost his best buddy (our GSD Spock) to prostate cancer and after that is when I started doing Rover as he loved having company. Cassie was adopted to give Ein company when there weren't Rover dogs over as she was a show dog and greeter dog (so VERY well socialized) at her original owner's kennel who retired and gave her to us. She fit in here like she's always been with us! I have a fenced yard - though if you have an escape artist please let me know as the fence isn't 6 ft all the way around yet. If you have a crate trained dog, I have an XL crate as well (I had a 130 lb German Shepard - Ein's buddy Spock before he passed away) and several smaller ones for when I am out of the house. I'm very experienced in giving both oral/injectable medications and would love the exercise. I live in a neighborhood next to a lake so short or long walks are an option. I do normally have a regular job during the weekdays as well so drop offs/pickups are either in the morning or evenings during the week and I do require guest dogs to be crate trained for when I'm at work for their safety as well as the safety of mine and the house. Right now I'm work from home 95% of the time so much more flexible on pickups/dropoffs and get to spend more time with them as well - bonus! I love animals of all sizes and breeds!!!

Amy and her Partner, Larry are the best! Our anxious, clingy dog adjusts incredibly well in their care. They make him feel right at home and care for him like their own fur baby. Amy is great at giving updates with photos and our pup always looks so happy. He eats great and seems nice and clean when we pick him up. He is always super tired from all of the walks and playtime when we bring him home.

Safety, trust & environment

I have a fenced yard and three friendly dogs to keep your dog company. I do crate dogs when they are home alone for both their safety around dogs they're not used to, my dogs, and my home. They're also crated if there is a dog being picked up or dropped off to limit risk of escapes. If we're home, the dogs are out and hanging out with us or going on walks!

Home

Lives in a house
Has a fenced yard
Non-smoking household
Has 3 dogs
No children present

Dogs allowed on furniture
Potty breaks every 4-8 hours

Information Amy C. would like to know about your pet

It would be good to know if there are any behavioral/health issues beforehand for both their safety and mine. I usually watch only my regulars but occasionally will open up my profile and always do meet-and-greets before accepting a stay to make sure they fit in well personality wise and to meet the owners as well. As I board in my home, I do not accept dogs that are aggressive, destructive, or have severe separation anxiety.

A typical day

I live in a neighborhood next to a lake so if we're doing a short walk, there's a neighborhood park/school to walk to and there's a longer (approx 5k) lake loop walk we do often as well. I have a Jeep so if they're up for a car trip, also an option as there's always interesting places to walk to - even Go Ice cream sometimes in the summer for pupcicles!
