Pet care experience
Hi! As fellow dog owners, we understand the importance of finding a good place for your pets to stay while you are away and the importance of updates while you are away. We live in Homer Glen and have a single-family home with plenty of space for the dogs to roam, including a large, fenced-in backyard and a very dog friendly home since we have 2 pups of our own (and frequent visitors) :) We have two dogs, Simba and Lady. Lady is our 2 year old mutt. She is about 30 lbs. LOVES outside, loves all dogs. We did a DNA test on her and it was a mix but predominantly border collie/redbone coonhound. She has energy but is very sweet. She came from a foster home with 6 dogs so she came to us very socialized. She's a very playful dog with a lot of energy but not a mean bone in her body. My husband I usually joke that she's our social coordinator because she loves every dog, person, etc. She's busy but she is all love. Simba is our very friendly senior dog. We rescued him 12 years ago and aren't sure of his breeds but believe he's a Jack Russell/Shibu Inu Mix. He grew up with our other dog that passed away, but he's hanging in there! He's very mild natured and he has always been great with other dogs. He's a senior now and sleeps most of the day but greets all dogs with a good sniff and then typically wants to go back to bed. :) My husband Scott and I both grew up with dogs our whole lives so we have always been dog people. We have two young kiddos - a 5 year old girl and a 3 year old boy. Both came home from the hospital to 2 dogs so dog life is all that they know. They are respectful toward animals and love the visiting dogs. We've never had any issues and they honestly don't really even react anymore. I think it's just their norm which I love. I am currently home full time during the week to care for the kids so the dogs are a bonus! So, they get no shortage of playtime and attention. ;) We are open to any dog that is friendly with other dogs and kids. We are of course, used to caring for our own dogs and treating them as a part of the family and would be no different towards your pup! You can expect lots of playtime outside, and whatever sleeping arrangement you are used to should work for us. Simba and Lady sleep in our room, and we typically let dogs sleep wherever they're used at at home. We're open to checking in as often as you'd like. Sometimes life gets busy with the kids and dogs but we promise we will ALWAYS respond as soon as we can. We try to send lots of photos and videos and check in often. We know what it's like to be away from our dogs so we try to be great about getting back to anyone and sending lots of pics and updates. If you have any questions please let us know! :)
Reviews
Wonderful sitter for our pups once again! Sent photos showing how at home they were and texts about their latest antics. Definitely will be using Amy again!
We left our very active bernadoodle, Ozzie, with Amy for 2 weeks. Amy sent us pix regularly, and returned Ozzie to us exhausted after lots of back yard play time with other dogs. We'll work with Amy again for sure!
Amy and her family were terrific with my pup. She was very communicative and sent lots of pictures and updates. Their yard is fenced too, which was a big plus. Would definitely board again with Amy’s family.
Amy is EXCEPTIONAL. She is kind, professional, and has a great family of fur babies. Atlas gets along great with her pups and we are so happy we found her. Thank you, Amy! You're the best :)

We love all dogs and welcome all dogs. We've really never had a dog here that was a problem. It's important to us of course that they're good with children, and good with other dogs. Other than that, we'd follow your routine here and do what's best for them. We're happy to answer any questions that aren't spelled out in our profile - just reach out!
A typical day
We have a large fenced in yard so a lot of times playtime is out there. All of our guest dogs love the yard. Where your dog sleeps is up to you. We have a very dog-friendly home, so ours is allowed on the couch and even the bed sometimes, so we're not opposed to that. If you usually crate your dog at night, we can do that too. If you usually let them sleep on a dog bed on the floor, that works too. Basically, they're allowed full terrain of the house so it really doesn't matter! We can make them feel like they're at home. :)

Availability
We feed our dogs twice a day, morning and around dinner time, and for our visitor dogs we do whatever they are used to as far as eating is concerned. We generally separate them when eating and feed them separately to avoid any issues. Amy is home during the week with the kids so she is able to provide frequent potty breaks and attention. In general, we just try to make them as comfortable as they are at home and do what they are used to at home.
