Pet care experience
As a kid, I was obsessed with animals. I watched Animal Planet nightly, and truly believed that when I grew up I would simultaneously be a zoologist, veterinarian, AND own my own animal shelter. Even though I didn't quite live up to little me's standards, I have been lucky enough to gain years of experience caring for all types of pets for friends, roommates, neighbors, family, and clients. I grew up with Rowan, a vizsla, who was a lovable and sometimes needy dog companion. I continued to gain experience taking care of cats, rodents, and dogs, young and old, large and small. I am now the happy dog parent to my own dog, a retired racing greyhound. Through my experience dog sitting and adjusting a rescue dog to my household, I have gained opportunities to learn and navigate behavioral issues like resource guarding, separation anxiety, and leash reactivity. I have taken care of puppies with lots of energy, shy dogs, as well as older dogs who require assistance with medication or mobility (going up and down stairs, etc). I am a relaxed and outgoing person, who loves to hike, travel, and spend time with animals. I am responsible, timely, and communicative, and I look forward to meeting and taking care of your furry best friend! We'll have a great time :) Hope to hear from you soon!
Reviews
Once again Amy was amazing! Communicative, flexible and great with our dog Hobbes!
It was such a relief knowing our dog, Hobbes, was in good hands while traveling. Amy was responsive, attentive, and considerate with Hobbes and our home.
Amy has been amazing! I have an anxious reactive dog and finding a sitter who can deal with this is always super stressful. Suffice it to say, it has not always gone well. But since our first meet and greet, I've felt totally confident that Amy can handle the situation. Amy has graciously accommodated my worries and last minute requests. She managed my dog's reactivity so professionally and even successfully earned cuddle time! I would easily recommend her to anyone, including those with dogs who have ~issues~.
Amy was really easy to work with and took great care of our dogs and our home. Even in the face of an unexpected accident on the bed (!), she kept a very positive attitude and rolled with the punches. I would recommend her for anyone else who needs a house sitter.
