Evening walks/school hols/weekend boarding

Pet care experience

Hi everyone! I have had my own dogs previously, but sadly working full time does not allow me to welcome any new pups just yet, so have signed up to this instead! I am a teacher with availability to pet-sit in school holidays, some weekend availability, with the possibility of some evening walks too. I have looked after spaniels, poodles, dachshunds, maltipoos, cockapoos… lots of lovely doggies! I live with my dog-mad husband-to-be in a terraced house with a totally enclosed garden. We are lucky to be in walking distance of three large parks. We would absolutely love our own dog, so have to make do looking after other people’s until the time is right for us. We often have our friends’ pooches whilst they’re away and can give references if required. I can look after dogs in the school holidays only as I am a teacher, so please only consider me if you are looking for school holidays! I may be willing to do the odd weekend here or there too. Alternatively, I can walk dogs in the evening during term time. Same goes for cats, if feeding is required! Our garden is completely enclosed all the way around - not even my mum’s Houdini-like cockapoo has found a way to escape! We have dog seat belts in our car too (for small to medium sized dogs). I did attend puppy training with my own dogs so I do have experience of giving commands and recall training. We do not currently have our own dogs. FYI - we are getting married in August 2023, so are unusually very busy in the lead-up to this, and some availability dates I have listed may need to change last minute! Normal service resumes in September :)

Amy loves dogs and is extremely good with them. She’s gentle, attentive to their needs, plays with them endlessly and will sit and give them as many cuddles as they can stand. When out and about with the dogs, she’s careful around traffic and watchful when interacting with other people and dogs, with everyone’s well-being uppermost in her mind. My dogs have always been very happy to be at Amy’s house and it’s a worry-free time for me as I can relax knowing my dogs are happy and safe in her company.

I cannot recommend Amy highly enough, she has looked after my two pooches on many occasions, often over night or a week while I am away. I can go on holiday or days out knowing that my dogs are being cared for just as I would. I know that they are safe, loved and living their very best dog-lives! My dogs love spending time with Amy and enjoy lots of walkies and cuddles.

Amy has looked after our dog Llama many times. She is trustworthy and attentive. She regularly gives us updates and llama loves hanging out with her! For all these reasons she is our favourite sitter :)

Any medication or special information must be shared ahead of time. My lovely doggy who is no longer with us had epilepsy, so I am experienced in giving medication to dogs.

A typical day

We are lucky enough to live near three large local parks, within walking distance of our home. We are also within walking distance of a meadow, where we have enjoyed many dog walks. As we have dogs in the family, we have lots of dog toys and games at home to keep them entertained. We also have dog seat belts in our car (these have fitted from a small dachshund up to an adult cockapoo).
