I currently work 3 days a week as an ER ICU veterinary technician. I have my Bachelor's in Animal Science. Observing, understanding, and caring for all types of animals has always come naturally for me. Personally, I have raised dogs, reptiles, and farm animals. Professionally, I have worked with house pets, farm animals, reptiles, and birds in clinical, ranching, surgical, and emergency settings. I love taking care of animals and becoming their best friend! I work 3 days a week, 12 hour days. If you choose me to watch your pets and stay overnight at your house, I will leave straight from your house to work in the morning. After work, I would return straight to your house to take care of your pets before going to dinner or running any errands I may have. After dinner and errands, I would return to your house for the night. This timing is appropriate for MOST pets, as they may be used to their owners being away at work during the day or old enough to not have any potty accidents. (Pro tip: If you are not sure if they can last all day with me at work, think about the nighttime. If you do not need to consistently wake up during the night to let your pets out, they will be good.) I would NOT recommend this schedule for puppies or senior dogs with strict medical care. In those scenarios, or if you would just like someone to check on your pet during the day, you can still choose me to watch your pets overnight, but I would recommend that you enlist someone else to check on your pets during the day. I can take care of pets in most living situations; however, experience has taught me that pets are most comfortable when they remain in their own homes. To reduce any stress on your pets of having a stranger watch them, I prefer to make my stay seem as routine as possible. I like to enter the house in the same way you would and greet your pets with enthusiasm. If they have a favorite toy, or place to walk or hide, they can show me, and I will play along. When I am staying overnight, my best clients make sure they leave me a clean bedroom and bathroom to use, with fresh sheets, towels, and toiletries. Some of them even leave me iced tea, snacks, TV dinners, and the internet password. It is always appreciated when clients make sure I am comfortable because it makes it easier for me to focus on your pets. In return, I take the best care possible of your pets, keep your house looking occupied, and you come home to a house as clean as you left it! I work 3 days a week, 12 hour days. I am always available over night on the days that I work, and am available during the day on the days that I don't work.
