Pet care experience
All dogs welcome! Whether your dog is calm and easy going or a total terror on walks, I can provide them with the care they need. I’ve personally had a calm Lab/Basset who grew into old age and hated walks and currently have an 11-year-old dog Shepherd rescue who was not socialized as a puppy and is very anxious and neurotic but loves to be out and about and go for long runs. Whatever your dog’s temperament, I’m happy to give them the love and attention they need. And as a reactive dog owner, I totally understand the stress of introducing a new caretaker to my pup and being nervous they will be turned off by his reactivity. Know that I have 10 years of experience with this kind of behavior and I will do everything I can to make you and your pup comfortable. As long as your pup is able to warm up to new people, I’m not afraid of pulling, whining, or growling, and understand these as signals our dogs are sending us. In another life, I would love to be a trainer and help with rehabilitation of these reactive dogs, but in this one, I’m happy to just give yours some love so you can relax knowing your dog is taken care of while you’re gone.

Very patient and kind with our big little 11 month old Great Dane.
Amelia was great! Very professional and jumped in for us at the last minute when our son could not keep our dogs as planned for two days of our trip. She kept in close contact (even though we were in the mountains with spotty internet!) and she sent us lots of pictures and updates every day. She even came back for an extra walk when our son had to work late on her last day! We returned home to happy dogs and our home just the way we left it. Thanks Amelia!! You really went above and beyond.

Let me know about your dog’s behavior and what to expect on leash and around your home. I love all breeds, but have a definite soft spot for those seen as “difficult” or “scary,” such as pits, dobes, shepherds, and rotties.
A typical day
Whatever your dog loves to do, I’m there for it! For my reactive dog, we don’t do a lot of walks, but instead I give him a lot of mental stimulation through obedience training, playing with puzzles, or working on nosework. I also love long walks if that’s what your dog prefers!

I work part time on a hybrid schedule and am in the office Monday, Thursday, and sometimes Wednesday. Otherwise, I’m available for your pup when needed!
