Loving at-home mom and family

Pet care experience

I am a stay at home mom of a family of animal lovers. Your dog will be a part of our family and get lots of love and attention. I send pictures throughout the day and keep you posted so you know your dog is our priority. We walk 1-2x a day and go on fun adventures. I have had animals all my life, the kids have grown up with animals, and we currently have a Bernese Mtn dog, Lizzy, and dog friendly cats Ivy and Rose. We have 5 acres with multiple fenced paddocks w sheep, horses, a llama, donkey and chickens. We love to take dogs to an empty paddock and play fetch and let them run off leash. I believe in training and leadership (trained all of our animals) but will follow whatever additional rules you have. However, we won’t allow dominant or severely untrained/rude dogs. We never leave dogs outside (unless it is cool and that is where they insist on being and even then we supervise). Dogs are allowed inside wherever they want and are only separated from our dog and family if we leave the house (or if they prefer a quiet area). We are generally only gone for short periods of time while watching your dog (e.g. Store or kid pick up). Your dog will also go for rides if they like car rides- we like to go on field trips to pet stores and parks. Let us help you out if you are going on a trip or just need a trusted place for the day. :) We typically don’t take more than one dog at a time unless they are together or in urgent situations. We live in a wildlife area so all dogs must show evidence of lepto vaccination in addition to all other vaccines and have proof of adequate flea control medication. Please bring enough food and treats for your baby- vacation is not the time for dieting and for my family’s sanity we need to make sure your dog is well fed and happy. We won’t overfeed of course, but this is not the time for severely restricted caloric intake unless medically necessary with note from vet. We believe dogs need special care when you are away and want to be able to treat and reward them with allergy appropriate treats.

Amelia is an excellent dog sitter. She is experienced with animals and treated my dog like a member of the family. She even bought her toys. I love getting pictures of my dog playing and having a great time. It was a real comfort to know she was in such good hands.

Amelia and her family are great with our little Schnoodle. Her animals are also sweet and good with other dogs.

Amelia provided wonderful care for our 3 year old Alaskan Malamute. He was loved, walked, played with, and given some much needed training. Their dog Lizzie was so kind about letting Levi "borrow" her bed. Amelia was great about keeping us updated on his activities and providing numerous photos of him playing with her dog Lizzie and her family. It was easy to see how at home he was with Amelia and her family. What a wonderful experience this was for all of us. Thank you!!

Amelia and her family are wonderful dog sitters! I used her services when they lived closer to my home, and when they moved, it was sad and incredibly hard to find a replacement. Recently, I went to Tahoe and dropped Maddie off on my way there for a weekend getaway. It was like they never left! Maddie fit right in and made herself at home. Amelia sent me some great pics of Maddie and Lizzy (their dog) hanging out just like old times. I will definitely use her services again when planning another Tahoe trip. Thank you Amelia and family for being so awesome!

Safety, trust & environment

Your dog will become a part of our family. Eat w us. Sleep with us. Walk with us. Watch tv with us. Feed the barn animals with us. Garden with us. Go to sports practices, parks and Petco. They probably love the rare times we leave them alone to run an errand. Please note that we live in the country and there are risks associated with that. If you have us watch your animal you acknowledge that, while we will do our best, there are risks associated with this environment including rattlesnakes, weeds, foxtails, coyotes, mountain lions etc. We have fenced paddocks and areas that are well maintained but we cannot guarantee a sterile environment. We check for foxtails and burrs regularly, but especially depending on the fur and temperament of your pet, we cannot guarantee we will catch every seed.

Our schedule is very flexible and we are almost always home. Due to full bookings and to better plan our family schedule, we will not accept bookings more than 3 months in advance. Dogs are welcome to come to horse lessons, kid’s sport practices and school drops if they like rides. Dogs are hardly ever alone as I will take them with me or they would only be alone w Lizzy for short periods if we have to run a dog free errand.
