I have dog and cat-sat for overnight periods up to three weeks. I have looked after several foster kittens at a time and am familiar with various methods of feeding, as well as looking for and discouraging hunting behaviors. Through my pet-sitting experiences and as a previous owner of dogs and cats I am more than comfortable with cleaning up waste, feeding, administering ear medication/oral medication, and putting on harnesses/muzzles/clothing. I am very familiar with the needs of dogs with arthritis and know how to massage joints/encourage blood flow and heat when necessary. I am especially attentive with anxious dogs as I've had two border collies, and am well aware of the subtle signs of anxiety they express and what calms them. I am an avid learner and enjoy having new experiences or adding to my collection of knowledge. I will always be patient and understanding with a dog and adjust to match their pace, walking and otherwise.
