Chicago’s Dog Mom of the Year
Pet care experience
I’ve always loved animals and grew up taking care of my two family Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. Before committing to a dog of our own, my husband and I have puppy sat friends and family’s dogs for years. Since adopting our first rescue with my husband, we’ve invested in educating ourselves to give our guy the best possible life. I have fallen in love with training and learning about dog behavior and cognition in the process and am looking forward to spending time with more dogs to help others out in Chicago.
Reviews
Amelia is the ultimate dog sitter! Her energy can match even the most excitable dog, yet when there is down time she is always ready willing and able for a good snuggle! Along with her glowing personality, she is dependable and trustworthy. Always great qualities to have in someone you trust with your furry friends! I highly recommend using Amelia, as she will brighten both you and your pets day!! After your first interaction, you will definitely be hooked! :)
Amelia and I share a love of dogs in general and she is an incredibly loving, dedicated dog parent, to a rescue dog named Glover. I admire the education she has pursued in order to give Glover all the love and care he needs. She has shared many of her learnings with me and I feel I have become a better dog parent because of her. She is caring and trustworthy and any dog that has Amelia as a dog sitter is a lucky dog.
She’s an animal lover - especially dogs! She’s good with big and small dogs with all personality types. She’s great at supporting the training that you’ve been working on with your dog. She’s patient, energetic and true dog lover!

We have a fenced yard that is locked at all times, and our apartment is further secured as it is a separate building behind the front house. Our dog, Glover, has full access to our home and is crate-trained. I always like to introduce the dogs outside before we go in to get settled. I also typically walk everyone 2-3x throughout the day (between 7am and 5pm). When I’m visiting other homes I remove shoes and wear slippers to protect your floors, and abide by any house rules or dog rules you live by.

Let me know about limitations or special preferences - I take these very seriously and pride myself on giving you and your pup the best care possible.
A typical day
There is no such thing as bad weather, so the key is having the right gear - I use Fanny packs and backpacks to pack snacks and water for longer urban hikes. I like to keep mornings brief while afternoons are more for releasing energy and play time. I don’t let dogs off leash unless there is a safe gated park (and I avoid dog parks for the safety of everyone).

Availability
I own my own dance entertainment and choreography business in Chicago and the last year has been slow so I’ve been working temp jobs from home. My second love is dogs; and I’m hoping to help out some families while I have the bandwidth to do so.
