Pet care experience
I offer both in home and out of home pet sitting as well as dog play dates and daily walks. I have a little over 11 years of experience which also includes my time working at a vet clinic. I’m currently working towards veterinary school and have a huge passion for animals. I am a part of an animal rescue in Okinawa, Japan where I work with many different types, ages and temperaments of animals so I am quite familiar with special needs. I also run a pet sitting business in Okinawa for the military families on island as its even harder to find quality and reliable care when you are so far from family and friends. In my home, I have a fully fenced in privacy fence with a large yard. My home is quite spacious and all pets are allowed full access as well as on furniture if you allow. I like to follow as closely as I can to the daily schedule they are used to at home to make them feel more comfortable. I have experience in agility training and plan to add a small agility course into the backyard which offers wonderful mental and physical stimulation. In the client’s home, I like to follow the routine that they are used to and/or what is agreed upon. Keeping consistency where possible helps the pet adjust to the changes of a new person entering their home while you are gone. Meet and greets are required for any in client home services to ensure safety and ease while you are away.

If in my home, I do need to know if they are dog friendly, are crated at any point during the day, and potty trained. It is also very helpful to know if there are any behavioral aspects that would need any extra attention, such as anxiety.
A typical day
There would be up to 3-4 walks a day depending on the needs of the client as well as dog park/beach visits and lots of mental stimulation with puzzles and trick practicing when requested.
