I love dogs! Their eyes are sweet but have such depth--they don’t have to speak our language in order to communicate their profound love and loyalty. Dogs are playful, too. And unlike humans, they never forget how essential play can be. I have a rescue, but the truth is, she really rescued me. Volunteer work is a passion of mine, and I’ve spent a lot of time volunteering at animal shelters. I’m always excited about making a difference in the lives of others. And I love taking photos--especially photos of pets! I’ve been pet-sitting for the last ten years, and I’ve found that my personality is well-suited to helping dogs feel at home with me. I communicate easily with them, reading their emotions to help put them at ease. Because new environments and new people can make dogs anxious, I do everything I can to help them adjust. If your pet is having a rough day, I’ll give them a shoulder rub. I allow them to adapt to the new setting, and make sure that they feel relaxed, focusing on rewards and praise rather than discipline. I have extra pet beds, blankets, food, treats, and toys to aid the transition. I also like to share all the fun we had during their stay by updating you with a puppy report and sending a few photos during the day. My own dog, Dolce, is a Pomeranian. She’s an absolute delight and loves other pets. She gives a curious sniff to get to know you, and welcomes you in right away. She shared her food, treats and bed with the last guest and loved snuggling with him.
