My name is Amber and I am 22 years old. I have always owned a dog since the day I was born. Animals (especially dogs) have always been an important thing in my life. I’m hoping to become a vet tech at some point for a career. I personally have owned 3 dogs in my lifetime. My first one was a Pekingese. My second one was a shih tzu who unfortunately passed at only 5 years old. Then the dog I have now is a shorkie (shih tzu yorkie mix). I have always build a close relationship with all my dogs. They’re like my kids. Even though I have only owned smaller dogs I do have experience with larger dogs as well. I used to work at Kennelwood. I had to go through a little bit of training before I actually began working there. It taught me different safety precautions, dogs body language, how to use different leads and collars, how to keep a dog in better control, and of course staying calm and doing what’s best for the dog. I worked with many different breeds and sizes of dogs while working there. It was a great experience and really showed me that my passion is working with animals. Every dog is special in their own way and just want to be loved and cared for. I love playing with dogs and taking them for walks on nice days.
