Welcome! My name is Amber and I am a 2023 Occupational Therapy graduate seeking breaks from studying for my board exam to care for your pet! I have grown up caring for dogs, cats and horses. In 2018, I worked as a veterinary assistant in a small animal clinic, and I was responsible for caring for animals boarding at the clinic as well as handling animals during wellness exams by utilizing low stress handling techniques. Although, I loved my experience working in a veterinary clinic, I decided to pursue a career in Occupational Therapy and specialize in animal-assisted therapy. In October of 2022, I completed my Animals & Human Health certificate, which has enhanced my awareness on identifying stress signals in dogs, cats, and horses. I also own a dog and horse, (my dog currently stays with my parents) and unfortunately both have gone through traumatic life events. However, despite the hardships they have encountered, I have been fortunate to build trust and confidence with both of them. Due to my experiences working with my dog and horse, I am a firm believer that every animal is unique and deserves customized care.
