Experienced Pet Sitter/Owner

Pet care experience

*COVID INFO AT END* I recently moved back up from Mobile Alabama and have been dog sitting since I was in little girl pants. I grew up here in Howell but started Rover when I was in the military in Virginia. I am a 28yr old Disabled Veteran so you can relax knowing your pet/house is safe. A lot of my clients had shifted from Rover after becoming friends and we did private bookings. I am okay with both ways as I am here to help you. I do request the first visit be under Rover booking but any others after can be at your preference. A little more about my experience: I have volunteered with rescues in Mobile AL when I lived there for years and can provide references if requested. I have saved and rehomed all kinds of pups ranging from new born to seniors. A majority of my rescues were those chained up and left severely neglected. My longest and hardest rescue took me nearly 2 years and he was my all time favorite to see enjoy his new home. I love telling my rescues stories and I love hearing about yours. A little bit of patience and love is the key. I strongly believe in treating people how you want to be treated so I ask for the same respect. Be honest with me no matter the concern and I will do my best to work with it. If you have any change of plans (i.e delayed flight, additional visit not on original request, etc) please let me know and I have no problem trying to work with you. I know times are tough financial wise so I will do my best to help you and your pup(s) without breaking the bank. Meet and greets are required for me to book with you. It is essential for the dogs safety and myself for them to become familiar with me before I enter the home when you are not present. Now don't let all these words scare you if you have ANY questions or concerns just ask! COVID-19 CONCERNS: I will wear a mask and wipe down any surface I have touched using CDC recommended cleaners. I understand the concern for everyone to stay safe. If you request certain procedures related to a medical condition such as an auto-immune disorder let me know! It is my please to ensure that we both remain safe. If you prefer to video chat to conduct the meet and greet please let me know and I will do my best to accommodate you. IF YOU TESTED (or came in contact with someone who is) POSITIVE FOR THE VIRUS PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!! It doesn't disqualify you but I need to keep my other clients and my family safe first!

Met with her before hand and she seemed great with my 2 dogs. She was supposed to do an overnight at our home Friday and Saturday night. She left Saturday around 6 pm and did not return to my home until Sunday 7:30 am. My dogs were inside over 13 hours. We only know because of outside security cameras. When I texted she said she had a family emergency. I completely understand that things happen, had I received a text or call I could have arranged to have someone else come over and let them out. When we returned home Sunday around lunch there was 2 piles of poop on my floor, 1 big dried pee puddle, my 18 year old dogs bed smells like pee and so does he, there was dog vomit on another dog bed. I have been so upset all day. My dogs are my children and I would never ever allow someone to leave them in and unattended this long. I am very upset, disappointed, and will never use her again. I have sent Rover a message regarding this problem.

The dogs loved Amber and everything went well. We got frequent pictures throughout the weekend. We had a long visit beforehand and felt comfortable with her here. Nothing that we've seen has changed our mind about her being the right person for the job. We would use her again.

I was very satisfied with Amber. She took care of my 18 year old Ringo in ever way that was needed. She gave him his medications and feed him his special diet that he is on without any problems. I have been house bond due too Ringos health issues and I cannot describe how pleased I am in the way she cared for him. She's an answer too my prayers. I will be using her again. Thank you Amber, from the bottom of my heart ❤️.

I can’t say enough good things about Amber! She was so amazing and comforting about the process of leaving our new fur baby with her- and that means a lot because we never like to leave our Jax. That being said, Amber did amazing and came over a few times before for the meet and greet and to try a few things out with Jax to help him with some problem areas we had with him. She was always available and sent so many pictures and videos of our pup to keep us updated! We definitely found our new dog sitter and a great friend too! Highly recommend booking with Amber if you want your pet to feel loved and right at home!

Information Amber L. would like to know about your pet

I would like to know any unfavorable habits the pup(s) have. This could include but not limited to: food reactive, not leash trained, favorite snack is you left sock etc. I love all breeds, give me your most fearsome pups haha. But if I have to pick my top dog breeds are those deemed "aggressive". Mainly because they are the exact opposite! And hounds... I love their howls! I require them to be up to date on shots and have their rabies and registration attached (or at least provided to me in case of emergency)

A typical day

Car rides, long walks with tons to sniff snorts, hide and seek, doggy park (if approved by owner), and best of all: SQUEAKY TOYS!! What ever they like to do I love seeing the pups play.
