Before sitting a dog, I like to know about its personality, attitude, and likes-and-dislikes. I also enjoy knowing a little about its typical hobbies - chasing after squirrels, getting spooked by the L-train, curling up on the sofa for pets etc.

Initially I like to walk a dog around its neighborhood, from its home to the nearest off-leash space we can find. This way we can play out in the park, allowing the dog can have some real free-time in the outdoors. I am a big fan of sprinting around with speedy dogs who like to chase and be chased. However, I am also known to give a very good belly-rub. Once I get to know a dog better I try to plan our activities based off their likes-and-dislikes. In the day-to-day, dog-walking can become mundane ritual for full-time dog owners, however, to me, being a dog-sitter allows for a break in that monotony. I love having the opportunity to give a dog extra time and attention in the form of an especially long walk, a handful of head-scratches, or a little milk-bone treat.
