Ever since I was a child, I've enjoyed being around animals. Cats, dogs, horses, mice, cows, goats, you name it, I've either had it as a pet or petted it once (or twice). I currently have an 11 year old male staffy/lab mix. My boyfriend and I have trained him to do a few standard "tricks"; sit, lay down, roll over, paw/other paw, and high five! I spent a lot of time playing with his paws and interacting with him while he was eating as a puppy, so that I would never have any issues as he aged. He doesn't have an aggressive bone in his body. He is the perfect testament to my love for dogs (and animals), as he is a lover that can't help but give lots of kisses to everyone he meets. He just loves attention from both humans and other critters. He grew up with our cat Schmoke, and they were best buddies (unfortunately he got an infection and passed away at the vet's office 5+ years ago). I'm pretty sure Schmoke (our cat) thought he was a dog, and our dog thinks hes a cat. hahaha I also had a pet mouse some years ago. Just saying, love critters big and small. : ) I've also pet-sitted, walked and cared for my brother's spunky beagle, and my sister's hedgehog. I'm a pretty active gal, and take my Charlie dog on walks 2-4x a day. We have a nice trail across the street that we enjoy walking daily.
