Pet care experience
I've loved dogs all my life! (And cats!) Grew up with a German Shepherd and a slew of cats both indoors and out. I raised & trained my own Belgian Shepherd puppy and rescued a Malamute, both of whom were by my side at home, in the car, or by a campfire for over 15 years. Have dealt with the challenges of both bringing up a puppy & helping an old dog with the slew of behavioral and physical problems that come with age. I'm a champ at reading a dog's behavior & needs, be it towards humans or other animals. Have taken care of dogs and cats for family & friends for years, both young and old, big and small. Since relocating to Georgia I’m currently without a dog, but I am catering the whims of 4 of my own house cats.

Amata loves animals more than any person I know. She is one of those people that dogs are drawn to--I have even felt a little jealous that my dog seemed to like her more than me somehow! She knows how to handle big dogs and used to have two strong, large dogs of her own (they both passed away in their twilight years). She has cared for my young, high-energy pit bull, who adores her. She also knows how to handle little dogs and previously cared for my 8-pound rat terrier/chihuahua mix, who also adored her. She is trustworthy--I wouldn't think twice about allowing her in my house alone. In fact, she's had a key for years and is always respectful of my space and privacy. She also is conscientious and caring, and I wouldn't hesitate to trust my home and my beloved pup to her care!
Amata is a true animal lover! Ever since she was a child she has loved and cared for animals. I have left my pets with her many times and they are so happy to see her. When she watches them I know they in good hands and I am worry free. ?

I'd like to know how the dog needs to be handled, what's good and bad for them, some personality traits. Are they outgoing? Shy? Aggressive, or an escape artist? Are they ok with strangers, and/or other dogs? I've owned both a dog who welcomed attention from strangers and one who did not. I always want to know the best way a handle a dog according to their needs, and whether to tell others how to approach them, if at all.
A typical day
Whatever activities are best suited for the dog, I'm always delighted to make them happy. I can go for a jog with a high energy pup or just let a senior dog meander as long as they like & sniff every blade of grass. I will never tire of making a dog's day. They make mine!
