Playwright Looking for Puppy Love
Pet care experience
Having grown up with dogs, I got pretty lonely after living in DC for 3 years without any furry companions. To feed my need for puppy love, I started watching my co-workers dogs about 6 years ago and became their go-to pet sitter. I started working through Rover shortly thereafter after. I’ve recently adopted my own playful pup who loves making friends, too! Prior to my move to DC, I dog sat for my neighbors in California all through elementary and high school. I first started taking care of dogs when I was 10 years old and my neighbors needed someone to feed their pets while they were away. I am not afraid of large breeds, but unfortunately am only allowed to have dogs under 50 Lbs in my current apartment. I work full time, and moonlight as a freelance writer. I have a hybrid work schedule so I don’t always work from home.
Reviews
Our dog Otto stayed with Amanda again while we were away for a week. She kept us informed with regular updates and cute photos of Otto hanging out with her and Mimi. So nice to not worry while we are out of town. We will definitely seek out Amanda as a petsitter again!
Amanda watched our dog Otto while we were out of the country for 10 days. She was super communicative and sent photos of Otto enjoying his time with her, her husband Seth, and their dog Mimi. Otto seemed very relaxed during his time with them and came home like nothing ever happened. I wouldn’t hesitate to ask Amanda to petsit for Otto again!
Our second time leaving Addie with Amanda was as great as the first time. She’s understanding of our old girl and is flexible with us about pick up and drop off. She will continue to be the top of our list to watch Addie when we can’t.
Amanda takes such great care of our Cooper. He comes home happy every time. Great communication and flexibility.

My apartment has a small fenced in yard for your dog to frolic in! They are always under my supervision while outside. If I am not home, they can be allowed to roam free inside or crated - I want to be as consistent as possible with their regular home life.

Information Amanda Z. would like to know about your pet
It’s important to me to learn as much as I can about your dog’s daily life; when they eat and exercise, what rules you have, training they respond to, games they like to play. That way I can keep things as consistent as possible for your dog’s comfort. I also need to know about any and all medical or behavioral issues, anxiety triggers, and emergency contacts. And if there is anything else you want me to know, please do not hesitate! Please note that our apartment is relatively small. While I love all dogs, high energy pups are difficult for me to manage and adequately care for.
A typical day
I live in a 1 bedroom apartment with my husband (another dog lover). We live in a very pet friendly complex with plenty of outside space and parks to explore nearby. We have a small fenced in backyard too! When we are home, we spend a lot of time snuggling on the couch with our dog, Mimi.

I work a regular 9-5 and my office does a hybrid work schedule. Tuesdays and Thursdays I have to go into the downtown office, so if your pup is with me on those days, they will have to wait a little longer between morning and evening walks.
