Experienced & Caring

Pet care experience

I'm a competitive dog agility athlete looking to expand my love of dogs and animals through helping care for yours. I have a cat and 3 dogs at home and have been training a rescue over the last year as a future agility teammate. My dogs are a 6yr old husky border collie cross, 4yr old border collie, and a 3yr oldshih tzu poodle cross. I'm familiar with both old and young dogs and varying energy and leash manners. Not only do I understand basic obedience but go above and beyond to teach my dogs how to go over jumps, through tunnels, teeter taughters and more in a safe and confidence building way. I use positive training techniques and prefer compostable poop bags whenever possible. I look forward to meeting your family member(s) and ensuring the care you instruct is provided when you can't be there.

Amanda is the only person I have ever felt comfortable leaving any of my pets with. Two of our dogs suffer with separation anxiety and the other two are very high-stung. We have also had Amanda help with our goats, chickens and cat. If you are looking for someone that will actually take your dog on walks, provide easy training, care for and love as if they were her own, then Amanda is the one to call.

I’ve known Amanda for over 10 years and within this time frame I’ve known her to be very amazing with animals. Amanda has 4 dogs of her own, a cat and a fish. Amanda always puts her animals first and takes very good care of them. She takes them on regular walks and has 3 of the participate in dog agility. She is very caring and think she would be the perfect person to take care of your pets #amandarocks #bestpetsitterever

I highly recommend Amanda as a pet sitter! She is so compassionate and loving towards animals. You can have peace of mind knowing that your fur baby is in excellent care with Amanda! She is very intuitive to their individual needs and extremely patient. I highly recommend!

Information Amanda W. would like to know about your pet

- Age - Breed - If they're fixed/spayed - Any and all known dog allergies - Any fears, anxieties, etc - Is your dog people and/or dog aggressive - Are there any issues I should be made aware of (health, activity limitations, agression, etc) - Where is the dog leash kept - Where is the dog kept (free range in house, in a room, in a crate) - Any special instructions

A typical day

I'll walk your dog around your neighborhood so they remain somewhere they know and feel safe. I'll walk at their pace (so older/slower dogs can stop and sniff as many times and as long as they want to) in a safe manner (no pulling, jumping on me or others, etc). Should the dog show behavior that's unsafe during our walk (pulling, jumping, growling, car chasing, etc) I'll use positive training techniques and do what I can during our walks to help the dog overcome the behavior and create better leash manners. I'll keep you posted as to how the walk went and if any positive training was needed and how your dog did.
