Attentive structured boarding

Pet care experience

We are Pacific Northwest transplants who both grew up with pets underfoot. We finally got a dog of our own in 2019, and now that she’s well behaved and all grown up we are ready to start accepting new and returning clients again! Since 2014, we have enjoyed pet-sitting for friends and neighbors because it allows us to have quality time caring for animals in addition to our own. Between the two of us, we have experience caring for dogs, cats, reptiles, fish, birds, rodents, and even some farm animals. In addition to 9+ years of experience with pet-sitting, we also each grew up with multiple pets of our own, adding to our comfort with various critters. We are known to our clients to provide customizable boarding tailored to your dog’s needs. We provide many daily photo updates of your pup along with any activities and experiences we had during the day to make sure you are in the loop and can rest easy knowing they’re in good hands. Most importantly, we offer structured boarding with lots of time for play, 1-1 games/enrichment, rest, and socialization with people and dogs. We make sure our dogs play well together but also can coexist neutrally while resting. This ensures everybody’s needs are met and playtime is more enjoyable for all. We are super communicative and committed to making sure the pets we watch aren’t overwhelmed when their owners are out of town. Need extremely detailed/specific care? We’ve got your back. We have experience dealing with a variety of medication and behavioral needs and are happy to accommodate those.

Amanda was incredible!! She communicated a ton, asked questions and had us feeling at ease while we were away. We have a 10 month old puppy with high energy that is still in training and she was great at keeping up our training as well as giving us some new tips tricks and ideas. We will 100% be bringing our pup back to Amanda in the future

Our experience boarding with Amanda and her husband was awesome! They truly are the “one in a million” on Rover for the care and attention they give your dog. Amanda is extremely knowledgeable in dog temperament and training, and works to provide a balanced environment for the dogs to play and have fun together safely, then also be able to fully settle down and relax. In a short stay she helped to reinforce the boundaries and training that we have been working on at home, and took our dog on several adventures including structured walks, outdoor hikes, and a run along the water! She sent photo and video updates several times each day. We had almost never boarded our dog before finding Amanda on Rover, and upon first meeting her we were immediately put at ease. She asks great questions to fully understand what the dog’s home environment is like so she can make sure the boarding experience will be a good fit. We feel so thankful to have found someone we can trust wholeheartedly and who really cares about the dog’s physical and mental well-being. Their dog Georgia is adorable and so well behaved, and was such a great playmate for our Golden. Without a doubt, we will board with Amanda again in the future! 11/10 highly, highly recommend.

Amanda and Jared took my girl, AWoo, last minute when my previous arrangements fell through. AWoo is shy, so I usually like to do a meet up in advance to make sure the humans and pups are a good fit. Unfortunately I couldn’t this time because of the timing. But Amanda asked lots of questions in advance and was great in welcoming my girl and helping her to get comfortable. I got lots of updates over the course of the day and AWoo looked like she had a great time w them and Georgia. Would definitely recommend!

We do require that dogs are crate trained (for puppies, as long as they are in the process of getting acclimated to a crate, that’s fine!) so we know they will be safe if we need to run out of the house for a few hours during their stay. We occasionally make exceptions for senior dogs or small dogs with no counter surfing, anxious barking, or any destructive tendencies. We feed dogs separately and monitor all play to ensure our pups get along. We have a fenced yard that is not escape-able. We never leave the dogs in the yard unattended, but we allow them potty breaks and playtime with us supervising. We never allow dogs off leash (other than in our fenced yard) while staying with us to ensure safety.

A typical day

We love to make sure the dogs we sit are receiving as much or more attention as they are used to receiving from their owners. We are happy to accommodate specific care regimens that your dog is used to to ensure their comfort and happiness during our time together. We are energetic and enjoy taking the dogs we watch on walks, to the park or in the backyard to play, or even on drives. Please let us know how we can make your pup feel more comfortable and at-home, and we will do our best to accommodate your requests!

We dogsit over weekends because we are off of work Thursday-Sunday each week. This ensures your dog will get our undivided attention. We also are happy to dogsit during the week when my work from home schedule allows (check with us if you’re not sure!). Weekdays when I am not working from home can also work for us, however, the dogs must be crate trained. On those days, we can provide midday walks/play time and be home by 4:30 or 5 pm. We will communicate our availability/work from home schedules up front when you make a booking request so you know what we are able to offer during your requested dates to ensure that works for you/your pup.
