Diverse pet households are my specialty! I play, care for, and nurture pets who live in homes alone while their family is away or in homes with multiple animals. My pet care services include care for small to medium dogs, cats of all ages, senior animals, as well as rabbits. I can provide extensive or longer duration house sitting. I am an easygoing caretaker who especially loves and understands pets of all kind! ————— Please Note: In response to suggested social distancing guidelines, I may request to meet pets/clients remotely prior to confirmed booking. Thank you for understanding. —————— I know how important it is to meet face to face and form a trust between you and your pets so let's find a convenient time to chat about the best way I can take care of your buddy! I am a detail-oriented, consistent, and reliable sitter, please ask me any questions or provide specific instructions to help me best care for your pets. I have a knack for house sitting, and was encouraged by my friends, and previous employers to provide services. I love exploring the neighborhood while taking your dog out for a stroll. I also will entertain animals in the house with their favorite toys (creature comforts!). I like to bond with the animals I stay with during house sits and am extremely attentive to their needs. I do not currently have dogs living at my own home, and can potentially bring your pet to my home for longer duration care or extra attention if needed in addition to the usual overnight house stays, check-ins, and walks. Availability - Weekday + Weekend availability - Flexible, extra care house sits include up to 2 visits throughout the day and an overnight stay - Longer durations and holidays may be a different rate (let's discuss!) - We can chat about special routines, and I may ask you to book an additional pet if necessary for certain special care cases (such as for additional dog or cat or other small animals). Special Skills - Senior dogs - Cats - Small mammals and reptiles - Plant care Highlights: -I spent a few days with a senior dog rescued from Mexico. She has to take pills, and have homemade meals with pumpkin prepared for her every day. She loves to cuddle and play with her two cat brothers in the house! -I took care of an FIV needs cat for a weekend while his owners were out on a bike packing trip to Mount Hood. He was vocal and playful, and had to occasionally be let out of the house as per the owner's instructions, as well as had to be fed a precisely measured raw food diet. -I house sat two adorable lop-eared rabbits for a week, cleaned their litters, and fed them fresh fruit and grasses. They were the spunkiest rabbits I've ever met, and a pleasure to hang out with. I had to ensure the rabbits went back into their night time cages and adjust the household thermostat as per instruction to keep them comfortable.

Amanda was such a wonderful pet sitter for my bulldog Theo. She was great to work with, reliable and very thorough in her communication. I felt extremely comfortable leaving my dog with her while I was away and she made sure to keep me updated with photos throughout the weekend. I would definitely use Amanda again and would highly recommend her!
Amanda was so easy going and a pleasure to meet! After a little confusion (on my end) she was still willing to commute across town to sit for us and was a wonderful companion for my kitties. I currently do not have pets in my own home but may be able to bring/house them if needed. I will take precautions bringing your pet to local parks and taking them on neighborhood walks. I always prefer leashing your pets for safety and can accommodate backyard play time and ensure your home is locked and secured while away.

Dogs all have different personalities, I find that I bond well with medium-low energy dogs, senior dogs, and generally calmer demeanors. That being said I can't help but give in to cuddles and fetch! It really depends on what you would like me to engage your pets with. I specified smaller-medium dogs in my profile, but I'm open to most breeds! I also have experience with 40 lb+ dogs that act like smaller dogs or lap dogs.
A typical day
Cats and Rabbits +If there are certain activities they like, walks around the enclosed yard or balcony, fun in the house... I'm flexible and willing to play! +Litter box cleaning is no sweat for me, every visit I'll offer to clean the litter because I know how messes can accumulate. Whatever makes your pet happiest. +I can administer medicines to cats, apply flea treatments, or topical ointments. I am very gentle with cats and know the tricks of the trade to calm them down. +These pets can be very sensitive to noise and activity, I'm understanding of even the "scardiest" cat and can minimize stressful situations while I'm visiting. Dogs +Bonus if there's a park, yard, or green space near the home, I could spend several hours outdoors with dogs if you'd like although I prefer to have them on a leash in an unenclosed space for safety. + I can do several smaller walks and outdoor time throughout the day if that's preferred. I mostly like to do active walking, but if you have a senior dog that needs more rest time, I can be attentive to those needs. +I am a graduate student writing a thesis, so any time to be outside is a plus for me and my hours are flexible, please let me know how many hours you prefer to have the dog do indoor and outdoor activities. + I do not have dog toys of my own to supplement activities, but whichever toy of your pup's choosing whether that's a favorite toy, ball or tree limb, will be my responsibility if it leaves the home on play time.

Availability
I work part time in environmental research and work remotely, I love spending several hours giving your pet attention and fulfilling their routine and have availability fri-sun for extra routine care and longer walks/exercise. My work hours are flexible and I often will bring my laptop with me for overnight and longer duration stays.
