Pet care experience
Hi! I'm Amanda. Dog lover of all types with a soft spot for dachshunds and big dogs that think they are lap dogs. Cuddlers are always a plus! I have a bachelor's degree in Interior Design and am currently working in Minneapolis. I commute by bus, so I am usually gone about 9.5-10 hours per day, but will be able to spend evenings and weekends spoiling and loving on your babies. I do have the ability to work from home some days, but not every day. I have been taking care of animals for about half of my life - since 2005. My mom is a daycare provider, and once I was able to drive, I started taking care of their family pets while they were away. I built my very small book of business from those referrals, but I love it so much that I am ready to branch out and meet your furry children! In addition to taking care of your pets, I'll also water your plants, rescue your packages, fetch your mail and take care of your home like I own the place so you can spend your time away with your mind at ease.

Amanda was amazing! My little girl had surgery earlier in the week and I had to work so wanted someone willing to be with her, watch her and make sure she didn’t do anything she wasn’t supposed to. My pup loved her! She texted me during the day and took a photo of my pup and texted it to me! I loved it and will definitely use Amanda again! Thank you, Amanda!

I like to let your babies live their lives as close as possible to how they live with you so as not to mess up any routines or comforts for them. If they sleep with you, they'll sleep with me. If they love to watch TV while you're out, I'll turn on their favorite show for them. Whatever you (and they) are used to!

Let me know if your dog has any special needs or behaviors that I can account for. I have given medication orally in the past. Allergies are a big thing to note - I don't typically bring my own treats for this reason.
A typical day
I try to steer clear of dog parks for two reasons: it's hard to trust other owners and your pets won't always listen to me as well as they will listen to you, which can potentially become dangerous if another dog is showing aggression towards your dog. I'm happy to provide walks or extra play time in the yard to make up for it if they are used to dog parks!

Availability
I do work downtown and have to be in the office 2-3 days per week. On these days, I will be away from your home for about 10 hours with commute time.
