Top-rated w/ veterinary experience!

Pet care experience

Hello, my name is Amanda and I‘ve been working extensively with animals for over 10 years! Over the last two years petsitting I’ve grown a wonderful list of regulars clients that I adore, and I have transitioned to working a majority of the time from home so I can spend plenty of time with your pets when you’re away! I’ll let you in on my secret...my passion for petsitting is definitely a little bit selfish. While I’d love to own 40 dogs and cats myself, my husband says I’m already pushing it with the two dogs, two cats, and menagerie of reptiles, amphibians, & small mammals I’ve rescued over the years, whatever that means 🙄😜 Needless to say, I just love having animals in my life, and petsitting for you gives me the opportunity to add more pets that I can cuddle and love like my own, without making my husband too crazy. It’s a win-win! I worked as a veterinary technician for 7 years, gaining valuable skills that allow me to provide quality and specialized care for pets of all ages and stages of health. I have many clients who are diabetic, incontinent, special needs (mobility issues, blind, deaf), require daily fluids, injections, medications, etc. I love all my seniors so much, diapers, bad breath and all! I’ve stayed with and walked many puppies as well, and there are few things more special to me than being a part of the critical growth stages of your new puppy’s life. In addition to the many pups I’ve had in my life & my own two that I’ve raised, I am my friends go-to when it comes to potty training and basic obedience. I don’t have any formal dog training certification so it doesn’t cost extra...all I’m saying is that you may or may not come home to a potty trained pup who can sit, shake & roll over 😜 I pride myself in creating lasting relationships with my clients and their pets. Each year, my fireplace is littered with holiday cards from all my clients! It makes me so happy to be able to be super involved in the life of my furry clients and their families as a helping hand and as someone who loves and knows their pet like they do. Going “above and beyond” just comes naturally to me, and I’ve done pick up / drop off for vet visits, daycare, etc. I have many clients that trust me fully with a key, and they will often call or text me on the fly when life is hectic, maybe a work meeting runs late or a date goes really, really well...I’m always happy to pop in for a feed/walk so they don’t have to rush home. I have even accompanied pups to their parents weddings, keeping their fancy wedding attire clean, entertaining them during the ceremony, and taking them back home for a stay so the newlyweds can head right to their honeymoon. I am usually able to be pretty flexible, short-notice included! I’d love to talk with you more about your pets and what you’re looking for, and I look forward to meeting you!!

There needs to be a 10 star rating - seriously! I don’t even know where to begin. I have never met anyone as amazing as Amanda. I am extremely particular about who watches my furkids. They are my whole world. All 10 of them. Honestly up until this point only my husband has watched ALL of them by himself. My dad one time with only a few of them. So it made me extremely nervous about finding the right person who I could trust not only with my furry kids but with our house, our things, etc. I mean it takes a lot these days to find someone who isn’t gonna slack on their job, or steal or whatever. I began looking for just the right person months and I mean like 3 months ahead of time the moment we bought the tickets for the ski trip Feb 2020. I found one other person but she seemed intimidated by the fact I had so many furbabies and she worked part time so she wouldn’t be able to be at the house all the time. I needed someone, due to the numbers and age of some of my babies , to be able to be at the house with them all day with nothing else to do but spend time with them. Mind you we were leaving for 8 days. That’s like a lifetime for me to leave them. I stress out leaving them at home when I go to work, which I also bring 2 of my dogs to with me. What does that tell ya? Ok yeah it says I’m absolutely crazy but that’s ok. I only wanted the best of the best and I found it with Amanda. When I first messaged her my first question was weather or not she was intimate honestly by the number of animals I had. Her response #lifegoals —- I knew she was the one from that point on! She has now been dubbed Momma Amanda because I think most of my babies would leave me to go live with her and not look back. lol Only cause they absolutely adore her! She spent quite a bit of time with me at the meet n greet (ok lets be honest like 2 hours) letting me ramble on about every little tiny detail concerning them. She was very respectful and listened to everything. She knew everyone’s names by the end of the meet and greet which floored me. While we were gone she was so quick to respond when I’d text her for pics or updates. Not only did she take photos like ALL the time but they are some of the most amazing pictures ever taken of them. She got a photo of all 4 of my dogs sitting together on the stairs. They were literally posing for her! They don’t even do that for me! Haha We have already booked her again for our trip at the end of the year. I told her she can never move and has to move with us if we ever move because I will never trust anyone else because no one will be as good as she is with them. She’s ruined it for anyone in the future lolz. I could honestly write a book about this incredible woman who has a heart of gold and a true passion and connection with animals of all kinds. So I would recommend her with the highest regards. You will never EVER find anyone better! I promise!!!

Information Amanda S. would like to know about your pet

Any and all breeds (and species!) are loved and welcome. I grew up with German Shepherds and my chow/pitbull mix is the love of my life! I also have pet snakes and tarantulas, so I am truly a lover of ALL animals and you don’t have to worry if you have any less-than-common pets. (You also don’t have to worry about me bringing my less-than-common pets with me to your place, haha) The only things I’m concerned about are always correlated to your pets safety!! As a vet tech, two of the worst things I saw happen on a regular basis were dog fights and foreign body impaction. I have a dog who is reactive to other dogs at random, so I fully understand if your pup is a little more on the nervous side when it comes to seeing other dogs. For their safety, as a rule I avoid close interactions with other dogs all together during our stay. However if your dog has any special friends in the neighborhood they like to visit/sniff/play with please just let me know so I don’t make them sad when I turn the other way! And of course please let me know if your dog has any tendency whatsoever to chew things up, get into the trash, etc. so I can be extra vigilant with toys, bones, the trash, my shoes, etc. Sometimes pups do act out a little bit more when you aren’t home, cuz they miss ya! That means the potential for chewing is a bit higher. As a rule I am of course always watchful, but I would hate to keep your pups favorite toys and treats from them if they aren’t prone to eating them, too. I want them to have as much fun and be as comfortable with me there as they are with you!

A typical day

I’m very active and love a good running or hiking buddy! Let me know what your regular walking route is and your pup will have fun showing me around the neighborhood! I’m sure there will also be many games of fetch, keep away, tug, and the floor is lava at home ?
