Pet care experience
I just don’t think that there’s anything better than getting to spend time with a lovable pup! There’s just something about their presence that really brightens my day, and I love to see a smile on their face. Dogs are always there for us, so I want to do the same for them! I know firsthand how difficult it can be to find great care for your best friend while you’re away, so I’m here to make sure they are as happy as can be! I am new to the Utica/New Hartford area and would love to help walk or sit your pup! My dog and I just moved from Las Vegas and would love to spend time with new fur-friends! Not only do I love dogs, but I also have tons of experience taking care of them! In college, I volunteered at a local shelter and learned so much about providing great care for pups in need. I earned experience with everything from puppies to elderly dogs, and even took care of dogs that needed lots of work when it came to socialization. No two pups are the same, so I like to take an individualized approach to each one of them! Now, I have an two year-old Border Collie, who I’ve loved taking care of! When you board with me there will only be one dog in the home with me. Your pooch will have the both of us to hang out with when they’re under my wing. When taking on a new client, I typically like to schedule a meet-and-greet. It’s a great way to make sure that we’re all a good fit for one another, which is so important to me. Likewise, it gives us the opportunity to chat face-to-face about your pup and your care expectations. No one knows your dog better than you do, so it’s always great to chat with owners in person about what makes their pup tick! Finally, I just love meeting new dogs! I like to get down on their level to show them that I’m a welcome presence here to make friends, and I’m sure we’ll be best buddies in no time at all. Lastly, I believe that great communication is the foundation for any stay. I know how difficult it is to be away from your best friend, so I try to make that time away as easy as possible. I like to start off by getting as much information about you and your pup as possible, so I can get a good picture of your care expectations and start thinking about how I can make your pooch happy! During the stay, I’m happy to send you detailed updates on everything you need—from meal prep to exercise times. And of course, that includes tons of great photos! I would also like you to know that a portion of the fees you pay me to watch your pup are donated to a Border Collie Rescue in Northern California!

Amanda is reliable and trustworthy. My pup Lucy is happy in her care. Amanda sends great photos of her antics and always updates me with her visits. I appreciate that I can have peace of mind knowing that she is safe and being well cared for when I am away! Thank you!🐾
Amanda was phenomenal and our dog seemed so happy to be in her care! She was available on quick notice and sent tons of amazing picture updates! We will for sure use her again!
Amanda was great with our rambunctious girl! She sent frequent pictures and updates, and made our time away worry-free. We could tell our dog had a great time and did lots of playing because she came home tired! We will definitely book Amanda again when she’s available! Thanks Amanda!!
Absolutely great! Went above and beyond just a dog walk, which I greatly appreciate. Stuart really enjoyed her company.

Some things I like to learn ahead of time: - Would you like to schedule a meet-and-greet before the stay? - What’s your preferred method of communication? - Does your pup have any health issues that need to be tended to? For instance, dietary restrictions, medicine, or behavior triggers? - Do you have a vet nearby that you trust? - Is your dog spayed/neutered? - Does your pup like to stick to a given schedule, like regular walks in the morning and evening? - What does your pup do well around? What does your pup try to avoid? - What’s the best way to spoil your pup?
A typical day
I will spend as much time as possible with your pooch. I know that the best part of a dog’s day is spending time with their owners, and I want to make sure I can do that for them while their owner is away. I have a dog park in the community I live in and will most certainly bring the dogs there if their owners are comfortable with it, and the dog is properly socialized. I also have a large lake and park next to my complex, that I bring my puppy to every night (either for a walk around the lake or to play Frisbee). It’s perfect to hang out around and go for a dip if we’re up to it! I love the area I live in, it is very safe and full of other dogs, as well as has a lot of areas to explore with pets depending on the season (summer is fairly warm).
