Professional fur baby caretaker

Pet care experience

Your family member will get quality, individualized care and love. I worked as a veterinary assistant and as a trainer's assistant for years and have lots of experience with a diverse array of dogs (seniors, puppies, medical needs, trauma history, etc). I was raised with dogs and cats from a young age and have always loved taking care of them. I have training in animal behavior, nutrition, and exercise. I don't believe in "difficult" animals, just animals that relate to the world differently and need some extra love and attention. I can provide some basic training and like to use positive reinforcement in addition to love and exercise. I am very comfortable with all sizes and breeds. I know that every dog has unique needs and preferences and want to make their experience away from you as comfortable as possible.

Amanda was able to take our young puppy on short notice. She was awesome and Wilson clearly enjoyed his stay!

Amanda was a great cat sitter, and I wouldn't hesitate to use her again. She was very professional and always gave a quick response to requests or questions. My kitties were very happy when I got home and my apt looked just like I left it.

Information Amanda R. would like to know about your pet

I would like to know if they have any special needs (medical or otherwise) so that I can provide the kind of care they need. I would also like to know how they are in public so I can be sure to take them on experiences that will be fun and won't cause them anxiety. I would want to know what the best ways are to comfort the dog if they are anxious. I would also want to know if the dog has received any kind of training so I can help to reinforce and use those commands as needed. I believe in positive reinforcement and making sure dogs have good nutrition and are engaged and happy.

A typical day

For active dogs who like to meet new friends, we would go to the parks, Barker Field, or take lots of walks around the neighborhood. For dogs who are more introverted or have histories of abuse or neglect, we would find more things to do at home like playing with toys and taking quiet walks nearby or in more spacious parks.
