Peace of mind while you are away

Pet care experience

I take pride in offering premium services for your four-legged family member. It can be hard to leave our pets at home whether that is daily for work or out of town on a trip. I like to offer my clients peace of mind knowing that their animals are well cared for and loved on by providing quality and reliable service. You will receive a several photos at a minimum and a detailed update of our visit. Generally around on holiday weekends so I have plenty of time to care for your pup for boarding or house sitting or just walks if that’s all you need. I’m Excited to meet and love on all the puppies, dogs, and kitties! I have always been a dog lover and my pup is currently 5 yrs old. Please note: I require a meet and greet and two walks before accepting any recurring services to ensure it’s a good fit. For boarding and housesitting services, a meet and greet and several walks are required to ensure that our dogs feels comfortable with one another and have time to acclimate if needed. If your dog does not get along with other dogs, I won’t be able to board/housesit your dog but can refer you to someone I trust with my own dog who can! I do charge a surcharge for night time and weekend walks/drop-ins. These will not apply during the holidays as only the holiday rate applies then. Out of service radius and last minute booking (day before and day of requests) surcharges apply regardless of holiday or regular visit. If you haven’t used Rover before and you book using the following link you should get $20 off your booking whether it is for walking, drop ins etc. https://www.rover.com/sit/amandp58732

We love Amanda in our household! She is communicative and responsive. I completely trust her to manage our high energy pup. Amanda is an extension of our training regimen with our puppy. She gives helpful suggestions and helps us work on loose leash walking and other obedience training during her time with our pup.

Had to get my mini poodle a walk and had never used Rover before. Amanda answered right away and fit me in within 2 hours of my request. She asked all the right questions prior to walking Minnie and she also provided some great training for Minnie when she came. I was definitely a little wary of using Rover as I have always had personal recommendations for prior dog walkers but Amanda is fantastic!

Regarding walks, for safety i do not allow any on-leash introductions to other dogs or people and your dog will remain on leash as long as they are outside. I make a regular practice of crossing the street . Whether it is your dog that struggles with reactivity or the possibility of other dogs out and about that may be reactive, it is not worth the risk of bringing your furry family member close enough to another unknown dog or human! I do also require separate non-retractable leashes for each dog (no couplers if you have 2 dogs) . This gives me the most control on the walk and navigating around other dogs and tight spaces in the city! In regards to drop-in visits for cats, please let me know if your cat is an escape artist and will try to run out. I know some cats like to go outside even if they aren't allowed to! Please note, i do not allow cats to go outside during my time spent with them even if your cat is indoor/outdoor. In regards to dog boarding, I do have a dog Furbo camera and can check on your fur baby when I am out of the house. For safety sake, I do keep your pup and my pup in separate spaces when I leave as well so they are always supervised when together.

Information Amanda P. would like to know about your pet

General routine including feeding and potty breaks. Does your dog have any reactivity issues, whether excitement or fear based? Any medical issues? Allergies? Quirks, whether positive or a habit you’re trying to get under control? Is your dog housetrained? Does your dog have loose leash walking skills? What commands does your dog know and which are easiest for them? Does your dog have a favorite toy? Does your cat like more interaction or to be left alone? Am i likely to see him/her or is your cat likely to hide somewhere? Does your cat have a favorite toy or game they like to play? it’s helpful to know all of the above!

A typical day

Palmer square park is great for walking Or there is a dog garden closeby. I also have a fenced yard to play in. We can also play inside with toys or chill indoors or outdoors as well and just sit if that’s more his/her speed. If your dog is all about the sunbathing, my gated deck does the trick! My pup also loves to play tug, run and wrestle. If your pup is a bit older and that’s not his/her speed, Lolli respects when another pup doesn’t want to play too!

Petcare is what I do for work! I’m self employed spending more than half my time caring for dogs and the other half training humans. Since I make my own schedule I can generally work around your dogs schedule With advanced notice as I do have a number of regular dog walks in the neighborhood though some days of the work week are more requested than others.
