Pet care experience

COVID UPDATE: Please note I have been fully vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19, so you can feel safe with me coming into your home for drop-in visits. I've been an animal-lover all my life, growing up with a bit of a zoo: rescue dogs, cats, ferrets, hamsters, even domestic skunks! I've worked at local animal shelters in the past and volunteer whenever I can, including for HSUS and RedRover on local/state/national cases. I currently work in the nonprofit sector in Atlanta, and I have two dogs and two cats of my own (all rescues) and will treat yours like they're my own while in my care! I live on the West End of Atlanta and work in the Old Fourth Ward, so pet-sitting gigs near those areas are most preferred. I am also available to check on other animals in the home, such as cats, small animals, fish, reptiles, etc. per instructions. I work part-time running a food pop-up business, so I have a pretty flexible schedule to care for your pets for drop-in visits in your home. I follow all instructions provided by you as the pet owner, and I interact with your pets based on the body language and behavior they show so that they are most comfortable with me.

I used rover to hire Amanda to check in on my dog while I was a way. She did not walk my dog like I asked because she said he pulled too hard. If this was a concern it should have been specified that she had a hip surgery and was limited, I would’ve hired someone else. Also, I have a very hard time believing that my dog repeatedly jump on you to the point you felt like you needed to leave early. My dog doesn’t do that, he brings toys over. You also mentioned you’re schedule was busy and couldn’t meet before hand. I would advise you to do this in the future.

I've worked with all sizes of dogs (mostly large, so I'm comfortable with large breeds!), but it would be nice to know your dog's temperament; if there are any quirks or things I should know before entering your home to care for them; what they enjoy doing for the visit; basically give me the run-down of your normal schedule and their personality and favorite activities so it can be a fun, safe experience for all of us. For walks, I'd also like to know if they are leash-trained and how they react to passing by other dogs/people.

I know all humans and pets have different things they like to do and feel comfortable with, so I'm willing to work with you to create the best experience possible for all involved.

I have a fairly flexible schedule most days for drop-ins during the mornings, afternoons and evenings. Please let me know during your request if the time of day is important for your visits so I can let you know my availability, and we’ll go from there!
