Pet care experience
Hi! Thanks for checking me out! I love animals and have a passion for dogs, cats and birds in particular! I thoroughly enjoy taking care of and playing with them, and I make an effort to understand each animals individual personality, as well as their emotional and physical needs. I grew up with all types of dogs, and know that each one requires different level of care and experience. For this reason, I do require a meet and greet in the owners presence. I lived at an animal sanctuary on Kauai and cared for 11 dogs, all with different levels of required care, a crazy rainbow of personalities, special needs pups, and many of which came from abusive backgrounds. I’m comfortable working with shy dogs, and while I have more experience with large dogs, I do have a warm place in my heart for all sizes! I’ve also administered medications and helped groom. I’ll keep you updated with photos and messages throughout the day, so you can relax and enjoy your time away. I am happy to brush and pamper your pet as well! I’d like you and your companion to have the best possible experience and receive high quality care!
Reviews
Amanda was our amazing last minute sitter after our regular sitter ended up delayed on her trip home. I’m always anxious about leaving the kitties for more than a few days, but Amanda did a great job keeping us updated with photos and letting us know how our one scaredy kitty was doing. Would love to work with her again in the future!
Finding a trustworthy dog sitter/house sitter is nerve racking. Amanda was terrific with our very anxious, 9 year old duggie, Heidi. Unlike so many other sitters, Amanda got back to me right away after messaging her on Rover. She was punctual when we met her the first time. Incredibly sweet and very patient with Heidi who doesn’t do so well with strangers. She sent us photos of Heidi daily, gave us updates, was incredibly responsive, dealt with a couple of episodes of dog GI issues, played with Heidi and kept our place immaculate. Dishwasher was run, towels folded and bed sheets washed and bed made military-style (perfect example of how a bed should be made for my 13 year old daughter :-). Selfishly, I’m hesitant to leave this review because I would like to keep Amanda to ourselves but I simply can’t recommend Amanda enough. Terrific experience and booking again for Spring Break. Thanks SO much Amanda!
Amanda did a great job taking care of our cat and house for several weeks while we travelled abroad. She was a excellent communicator and provided lots of pictures and details to help us feel assured that all was going well while we were gone for an extended period of time. I would highly recommend her!
First time using Amanda and she did a wonderful job house sitting with my 3 cats and 1 dog! Definitely recommend!!

I try to keep pet parents routine as much as possible to minimize any stress on them and to keep them healthy and happy. For most pets I think being around and/or keeping them busy and interested/occupied is the key to happiness!
Information Amanda M. would like to know about your pet
On a scale of 1-10, with 1 being not at all and 10 being absolutely yes, how does your companion rank? My dog can follow simple directions such as sit, stay, and heel My dog is friendly with human strangers My dog is friendly with canine strangers My dog is unfazed and unafraid of loud noises, or sudden movement My dog is crate trained or behaves appropriately left alone in the house My dog walks easily on a leash My dog is okay with being transported by car My dog is treat motivated Also good info: any past incidents involving other dogs or humans, whether they are treat, play, or praise motivated, any allergies or medications they take daily! When we meet and greet, I will also get veterinary information for you so we are all well prepared!
A typical day
Walks, runs, fetch, hose time, dog park, cuddles, repeat!!!! My animal philosophy is that the happiest pets are the ones who have the most personalized care, so my day with every individual dog may not look exactly the same, depending on their activity level. Dog doesn’t like car rides? We might take an extra long walk to find an off leash park. He’s shy around other dogs? We might head down to the beach to swim! Pro athlete and a big backyard? Fetch time! But there will always be plenty of walks, fresh air, and fun times!

I’m currently only petsitting and dogwalking, so I will spend around most of my day with your pet. I take breaks often and normally walk the dog(s) and give them games or toys to do to keep them occupied when I am not around :)
