Growing up, we always had a full house of animals. 6 cats, 2 dogs, and 3 birds along with countless hermit crabs and fish. Each of these animals came with their own special needs. One dog had no eyes, another was allergic to everything, our cats had everything from coronavirus to anxiety to a seizure disorder. We loved them all as our own family. My husband and I currently have 2 Japanese Chins and they are EVERYTHING to us. Bailey is older - almost 9 years, and Minnie is just a baby at 1 1/2 years. Minnie recently developed a bulging disc in her back and is stuck on strict cage rest for the next 6 weeks. Fortunately, I have lots of experience in administering medication due to my cat that required anti seizure medication 3 times a day. This does mean that instead of taking walks with my spunky energetic little girl, I have to carry her into the yard to go to the bathroom instead of either of us actually getting some exercise. After years of living in an apartment, Bailey has been conditioned to short bathroom breaks.
