My name is Amanda, a mother of a 3 year old daughter, Addison, but I also consider my dog and cat my children as well. My canine is a 5 year old male white shepherd mix and my cat is an 8 month old domestic short hair that is a mix of black and white. Throughout my life I have always had pets. My passion always was animals, which is why I aspire to join the Veterinary field in the near future. I am going to enroll in the fall to get certified as a Veterinary Technician. Growing up my household always had one or two pets at a time that I always loved to care for. We had a total of 3 dogs growing up which were all different breeds and sizes. I also owned a snake, Carter, as a kid, and a pet guinea pig, She-She. I always took my great responsibility even as a child for all the animals, as well as the many pet goldfish I had. I’ve had experience house and pet sitting and walking as well for family friends. I was a constant sitter for a few of them for 5 years, which was when they were on vacation or busy. They could always rely on me to take care of their animals. Some of those families also had multiple dogs and pets, so I am able to handle more than one pet at once. As far as my non pet sitting experience goes, I also worked in jobs in management. I worked as an assistant project manager in Colorado, where I rescued Gunner at the time. My next job I sought for more responsibility and worked as an Office Manager at Transportation Company. My daughter starts preschool this fall but I’ve been a stay at home mother since she was a baby. So currently I’ve been focused on my little family of 3 and am very ambitious to start working again, especially for animals because they have always been a constant joy in my life. I’ve always believed animals affect people’s happiness in life and they do more for us than we do for them.
