I prefer dogs over people ❤️

Pet care experience

Personally, I own a [almost] 3 year old, male, Miniature Australian Shepherd (35 lbs) named Tucker. He is very high energy (lives for the ball), very smart, affectionate, and overall a “good boy”. He loves friends, ESPECIALLY the ones that will play with him and want to be his friend too. Those interested in boarding or day care must have dogs that like other dogs and can tolerate Tucker’s desire to play and be besties. Professionally, I have experience working for a respected nationwide doggy daycare & overnight camp. I believe in caring for pets the way I care for myself (example: I don’t eat chemical processed foods, nor do they— a healthy, quality diet maintains a long life with little to no problems later on (much like us!). I don’t believe in pets living outdoors or not being allowed on furniture (maybe some furniture depending)— they are loved FAMILY members and my home is theirs. I do not believe in negative reinforcement of any kind. They should be loved, nurtured, and cared for. I feel most dogs shouldn’t have to be alone for more than 4 hours. As a pet owner, it should be known that you are their whole world and who/what they live for all day, every day, so they should be shown how much you love and appreciate them.

Safety, trust & environment

I live in a pet friendly apartment in a more rural area. So though I don’t have a fenced in yard, I do have a yard with plenty of our own space (I am able to throw the ball for my own dog and he also has his own kiddy pool to swim in). Tucker, my male 2 year old mini Aussie is here to keep yours company. Tucker does not need a leash in our yard and had full reign of our home day and night, however if you require a leash and/or crate, I am able to care for yours the way you require.

Information Amanda K. would like to know about your pet

Let me know if your dog has any special needs or behaviors that I can account for. If so, I am totally willing to work with just about any of these for my house-sitting services. As far as boarding, as long of none of these potential needs or behaviors interfere with my own fur baby’s life in his home (I.e. based on info I have provided, you feel your dog is still capable of befriending or even just tolerating mine and the description of our home and surroundings can be suitable for your fur baby).

A typical day

Tucker and I spend as much time as possible outside using our chuck-it to throw the ball (literally gets HOURS of this most days). Now that summer is in full-swing, his kiddy pool is out to cool off in, and every now and then he gets a battle with the villain that is the sprayer on the hose. We regularly go for walks around our neighborhood and sometimes go across the street where there are acres and acres of unused soccer fields (in my 5+ years of living here, I don’t know that I’ve ever seen anyone, aside from us, utilize this area for any purpose. We go here to especially burn off energy as the ball can be thrown as far as you can possibly throw it.

Availability

I work full-time for one of the top 3 retailers in the world (NOT Walmart), but retail nonetheless. I always have at least 2 days off/week, but those days vary every week. My work days [normally] don’t begin until around 12pm and are over around 8:30-9pm. However, as far as boarding goes, I do live with a significant other (who equally loves dogs) who works Monday-Friday and is generally home by 3pm.
