Life long animal lover!

Pet care experience

I started taking care of horses while I was in middle school. Around the same time I began pet sitting for neighbors and family any time they were away, this led to overnight house sitting when I was old enough to do so. This includes being in charge of a 20 horse barn for weeks at a time. I also spent time working in the kennels of a vet clinic that also offered boarding. I myself have had cats, dogs, hamsters, guinea pigs, reptiles and fish my entire life. My closest friends call me Dr. Doolittle because of my natural way with most animals.

I have a nervous dog that takes a while to warm up to new people, but she became fast friends with Amanda! I’ll definitely leave my pup and home in Amanda’s care again as she was very conscientious and communicative.

Amanda was amazing with my two girls! I was gone for 6 days and they have some specific quirks but I didn't worry about them at all with her, and they warmed up to her so fast. Amanda was super communicative and sent me pictures when she was doing the visits. She was even great about doing house things like bringing in our recycling bin, even though she was really only obligated to be a pet sitter. I will absolutely be booking her again!

Amanda is great with any and every animal she comes in contact with. Even dogs that people warn have aggressive tendencies seem to melt into her and turn into puppies around her. She takes great care to make sure animals are loved, cared for, and happy. I don’t trust many people with my dog but I trust her with him without a doubt.

Safety, trust & environment

I care for clients pets as if they were my own. I understand that pets are more than pets, they are family members and it is hard enough to have to be away from them. Pets in my care are showered with attention and love, given plenty of potty breaks and their feeding schedule strictly maintained.

Information Amanda H. would like to know about your pet

It is important for me to know the dog's temperament. How are they with people? How are they with kids? How are they with other dogs? Do they have a pray drive? What are the normal household boundaries? Do they have any triggering aggressions? Do they have any major fears? And of course any health issues I need to be aware of.

A typical day

I like to keep animals where they are familiar and comfortable. I tend to stay in the area the dog resides, such as playing in the yard or walks in the neighborhood, mainly for safety reasons. If the relationship with the owner and dog develops into a strong trusting relationship, I am more than willing to take the dog in my car to locations to hike or a dog park.
