Hi! I am mom to Ben, an 8 month old rescue hound mix, as well as two 5 year old cats, Niko and Thor. I have previously had an orange Tabby named Garfield whom I had for all of his 20 years of life, and a rescue pit bull named Anji whom I rescued at 11 1/2 and had until she passed at 15 1/2. The experience I have with both young and old dogs and cats makes me an excellent sitter for your pet! I am very active and attentive so I can handle puppy energy. I also am very experienced with senior animals. Towards the end of Anji's life she needed help and patience with pretty much all of her daily tasks. I needed to lift her hips when she got stuck sitting down or in an awkward position, she needed guidance on stairs, a very slow paced walk, and even help with eating and cleaning her face. I am also comfortable providing different forms of medications (injections, topicals, pills). I have been around dogs and cats my whole life. Additionally, I have years of experience with dog walking and volunteering at shelters. Volunteering has provided me with training for handling all types of dogs and recognizing their body language. When I do house visits, I try to leave your home cleaner than when I arrived. You can trust that I will give your pets the best care! I am a grad student with a pretty flexible schedule, so I am able to fit several care visits and walks into most days of the week. I try to gently introduce myself to the dogs or cats when I enter their space, letting them observe my energy and smell me first.
