Pet care experience
My parents were Basset Hound and Labrador Retriever breeders. From the age of 6, I helped the momma dogs give birth, learned how to care for puppies, raise dogs, train them in obedience, and just enjoy living with man's best friend. I also have lots of experience with cats. Most people do not have patience for them, because they are very intelligent creatures! I started raising my first kitty in 1995 and his name was Peanut. I have had a lifelong love of wild and domestic cats. I have studied what they need to be happy, and I am more than happy to care for cats as well as dogs! I have experience volunteering in local shelters.

I was amazed. Amanda did not meet and greet before hand but left photos of walk. She navigated our home and neighborhood just fine on her own.
Amanda was awesome with my 1 year old high energy dog! My dog Palmer absolutely loved her and had a blast when she was around! She gave him tons of exercise and treated him like her own. She sent lots of pictures and videos which was great!!!
Amanda was amazing - so knowledgeable and understanding. Made a stressful day so much better!

I have a fenced in yard and am very comfortable walking dogs on the leash. I am very comfortable going into the clients home to care for their pets based on a written routine of how the dog or cat should be cared for. I do my best to learn what the pets personality is like.

I would like to know how hard a dog pulls on the leash, what scares them, what they really like, how far they like to walk, and if they are friendly with other animals and people.
A typical day
We would explore the park, walk around the neighborhood, or go to the dog park. We would play fetch and tug, and if the owner wants, work on tricks, commands, and obedience with positive re-inforcement training. Oh, and all the snuggles and petting the dog or cat desires.

Availability
I am studying Dog Training/Behavior. I also bathe and groom. I am also a freelance Artist and Musician and work from home. I have a very flexible schedule that allows me to take care of pets for Rover! I have a Yellow Labrador named Fergus, and he is everything to me. We recently added a new member to our family. A rescue Yellow Labrador named Merida! I make sure my pets get enrichment everyday, and we have a routine. We walk about 1-2 miles a day. Play fetch, and we work on obedience and brain games. I treat all animals with love, respect, and joy. I also have 3 guinea pigs, Belle, Peggy, and Bean. They are never kept with the dog on the floor, but he does lick them while I hold them! I am happy to care for your small animals during drop-in visits if needed! Such as: Rabbits, Guinea Pigs, Hamsters, Rats, Mice, Gerbils, Ferrets, Lizards, Fish, Birds, Amphibians, and even Insects! I'll also water your plants.
