Amanda F is the best. She is very dog savvy and was a pro at making my chi-mix feel at home. She is a very kind and patient person. Her apartment is beautiful, safe and dog friendly. Amanda F believes in following thru on commitments and went out of her way to keep our petsitting appointment eventhough other conflicts appeared that day. She's a great communicator too. I recommend Amanda F highly -- she is TOP ...

I can't say enough good things about Amanda! We usually board Dudley at his daycare when we go on trips, but with the flu outbreak, we really didn't want to. A friend directed me to Rover.com, where I was lucky enough to find Amanda. I was initially impressed with the correspondence prior to our meet and greet - she is very detail-oriented and took the time to ask questions and really listen to everything I ...

Amanda did a great job watching my dog, she was really accommodating with my schedule and was able to watch him at the last minute. She was very knowledgeable about dogs and clearly had lots of experience.

Dog trainer to loving pet sitter!

DESCRIPTION:
Hi, my name is Amanda and I left my job working for an Elite Dog Training Company to become a teacher. Although I teach for my career, since leaving Suburban K9, I still and always will be a dog lover! I am excited to be a dog sitter and with my extensive background in animal behavior, you can feel confident your best friend will receive the best quality of care while staying here or ...

What Amanda would like to know about your dog

Any breed is fine, but I cannot have a dog that is over 100 pounds. I have worked with dogs AND puppies, so any age is ok! I so take puppies but your puppy would need to be housebroken. ( If this is something you are struggling with yourself for a young puppy, I can give you some tips on how to housebreak a puppy!). As far as what I would like to know....
I would like to know if the dog has any behavioral issues? ie: getting into the trash, stealing pillows, counter surfing, etc. This way I can best prepare my home for your dogs stay. I would like to know if the dog has any odd tendencies that are normal for him/her? Lastly, does your dog take any medication/have allergies? Other things can be discussed during a Meet and Greet!

When Amanda watches your pet

Here's where we'll take our walks
I live in a great neighborhood in Logan Square. Tons of trees and a nice neighborhood away from the hustle and bustle of the city. I will take your dog on long walks through my neighborhood. There is a park right around the corner, and a dog park not too far that I am more than happy to take your dog to pending on how they get along with other dogs.

Your dog's sleeping arrangement
I like to replicate the dogs sleep experience at home the best I can. We have one couch that is ok for dogs. I can also take a crate/ dog bed for the visit if that is what your dog likes. I have several blankets your dog can cuddle up on, do not feel like you have to send them with something. ( But if your dog has a dog bed, I do recommend sending that with). If your dog normally sleeps in your bed, I will potentially allow it. It would depend on the size of the dog and the amount of shedding. :)

Time I'll spend with your dog
Probably more than you do. I work part time 4 days a week! Besides that I am taking online classes from home and I volunteer at the YMCA. I also have two loving girl roommates that will be around as well. Between the three of us, your pup shouldn't ever be alone for too long.
