Pet care experience

Hey! My name is Amanda, and my husband is Daniel. We currently own 3 dogs myself, 11, 5, and 4 years old! I I foster and coordinate for a nationwide rescue, and have had anywhere from my 3 dogs up to 10 dogs (Mom and pups!) at a time. We have a fenced and gated wrap around deck, which gives all dogs 24/7 access to outside. We also have a fence for our dogs and I take everyone for a walk/run everyday; the mileage depends on the dogs. We also have a finished basement, so if you're dog has any anxiety/animal issues, they have couches and rugs available to them for alone time. We have 5 acres of land to explore, and I have extensive experience with high energy dogs (border collies, German Shorthaired Pointers, etc) and low energy dogs. My dogs of various ages ensure your dog will always have someone of their energy level to play with!! If it suits the pet more, I am more than happy to visit them in your home. I also have experience with rabbits, chickens, goats, horses, fish, turtles, snakes, geckos, and many, many other animals. About this sitter: I can travel to your pet's home, where it feels most comfortable to walk/feed/entertain it. I am available for early morning and evening walks, and depending on location mid-day walks. I also have experience with many other animals, such as rabbits, fish, horses, cats, snakes, geckos, etc. If it is just a quick 15 minute walk or a longer run, I am happy to help you and your the best way I can. I have 3 dogs, so walking multiple dogs is something I have a ton of experience with! Please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions. I am open to anything and would love to help you! At this point, I can daily walking visits for the Floyd area only. Right now, this is not my main source of income. It will be when I start law school, but for now, all proceeds I make go straight to fund my foster dogs and rescues. I love animals, and have a ton to show it! I have pet sat for many people before in Tennessee before I moved to Virginia, and am looking to start up again. I take all 3 of my dogs on daily walks/runs, and am experience in administering medicine. I also worked for a vet's office while in college for Vet Med major., so I have been exposed to it all! Why I love dog sitting I have many, many dogs over the years, starting with the day was born. I always loved animals, but dogs hold a special place in my heart. I rescue and foster canines, and firmly believe there are no bad dogs. I avidly rescue bully breeds, black dogs, senior dogs, and the like to give them a better life. Meet my pets I have a rabbit named Wilbur and 2 pet chickens. About my yard I have 5 acres of land our dogs are free to explore. We have a secure, fenced in section for off leash play and socialization with our pups. Most of our land is wooded, and dogs are inspected for any ticks before they come back in the house. About 1 acre is mowed lawn, and kept short, so we can also keep them there during the high tick season. My experience administering medication Very extensive. I have experience with lots of medication, from insulin injections to pills.

Amanda and Daniel were awesome. My puppy had the time of his life playing with all their dogs - it was like being at camp. He came home healthy and exhausted, just the way we hoped he would.

Information Amanda & David C. would like to know about your pet

I welcome any and all breeds! I do need to know the preference for a crate (I have extras), any past dog aggression (It happens to everyone!), how far along in house breaking the dog is (No big deal if it is a newbie!), activity level, if a halter is provided (This is my preferred walking method over just a collar) and any special medications.

A typical day

Here's where we'll take our walks I usually take the dogs down our road and onto another one. There are very few houses anywhere, so the traffic is kept to a minimum either way. Your dog's sleeping arrangement Depending on your dog's preference, we have crates, a finished basement with couches, our bedroom with 2 of our dogs, a bedroom just for the dogs, or our living room with a senior dog. Time I'll spend with your dog I will be spending around an hour walking in the morning, and the dogs will be alone from anywhere to 5-6 hours during the weekdays. I also do evening walks right when I get home to get any built up energy out. All dogs have 24/7 access to the great outdoors via our wrap around deck and the fenced in yard. Time I'll spend with your dog I can do early morning walks, and evening walks to get out any energy. I also have a flex schedule so during the week there are about 4-6 hours I will be away during the day. Extra house-sitting services Of course I provide services! I can do just about anything that needs to be done while I am there. Mail be taken in, plants to be watered, even changing litter boxes or rabbit trays.
