Veterinary Hospital Quality
Pet care experience
Since moving to the Richmond area in 2019, I have worked at two Veterinary Hospitals: Betty Baughs Animal Hospital for three years full and part time; Veterinary Specialists of Hanover in the Internal Medicine Department for a year full time. I first started on my life long animal adventure at age eleven volunteering at a veterinarian office. Here, I began fostering dogs/cats abanded at the office and found them good homes. I continued fostering through agencies, such as Gainesville Pet Rescue and walking dogs as a side job ever since. My love for animals led me to become a Zookeeper and then a primate researcher in Africa. I have recently moved to Glen Allen for my current job as a Wildland Firefighter and would like to set up a client base close to home. The pros of selecting me are free training consultation, enrichment focus care, and the ability too confidently give at home medical treatments, such as subcutaneous injections.
Reviews
Amanda was wonderful with our special needs dog, Leeloo. Leeloo has a megaesphogus and it was such a relief to be able to take a vacation and leave her in such caring and capable hands. Amanda was always sure to keep us updated with pictures on Leeloo’s routines and adventures. I recommend Amanda. Leeloo and I will definitely be using her services again.
Amanda was wonderful with our dogs and we appreciated her services while we were out of town! She sent us pictures of their visits, and kept us updated. Highly recommend her!
She did an amazing job with my very anxious dog. She let me know every time she got there and sent a lot of pics for updates and also let me know when she was heading out. She was able to do this with less then 24 hour notices and was so flexible. I will be using her again :)
Amanda is professional and extremely attentive. She welcomes my pups with open arms and takes amazing care of them while I work. I would highly recommend her to watch after your babies!

I currently have a partially fenced backyard (soon to be fully fenced), so visiting fury friends will stay on leashes. Daily walked around our neighbor and/or the near by Crump park. I believe in daily enrichment for animals.
Information Amanda D. would like to know about your pet
Prefer dogs who do not have accidents in the house. If they do, please provide a crate so I can reinforce positive house training techniques while they stay at my house. Must be dog friendly. All breeds welcome!
A typical day
Daily enrichment can take many forms. If the animal likes to train this means running through their tricks. Also snuffle matts, frozen treats, and treats in towels are a good way to get their brain and body working. I also love training cats!
