Pet care experience
As an active volunteer at the Seattle Humane Society, I am committed to giving back to the community of dogs that my life is so enriched by, and to expanding my current knowledge of canine behavior. I am honored to participate in the shelter's Dog Behavior & Socialization program. Each week I work with rescue dogs to help them lower stress and learn basic manners, through the use of positive re-enforcement and calming techniques. I am certified in pet first aid by the American Red Cross, because the health and safety of your pets is paramount! I adopted my first dog when I was 19, and my world has revolved around them ever since!
Reviews
Amanda is amazing! We have known her for a few years as a neighbor, and the mom to our Jasper's girlfriend, Newt. When she started her business of pet care we were honored to be part of the first wave of clients. Jasper LOVES her! Her approach to pets is warm, nurturing, practical, and fun. She gears Jasper's activities based on him, not her. If he's not feeling well or if he's overly energetic, she's in tune with his needs and reacts accordingly. She also works on training him in a way that we couldn't. His overall behavior, demeanor, weight, and health has improved because of Amanda. We also feel very confident in her having complete access to our home. We trust few people with our fur kid and Amanda is at the top of that list. If you want a really great person to care for your pet the way you do, please consider Amanda. She's a dog's best friend!
I have two dogs that are not necessarily the easiest all the time. One is large and can lunge at other dogs, the other is extremely shy. However, both of them adore Amanda, and since she started walking them I've seen a marked improvement. Amanda is patient, reliable and communicative, leaving notes and an Instagram picture after each walk. She will take the time to understand each dog's needs. I highly recommend Amanda.

Information Amanda D. would like to know about your pet
Better to have too much information than not enough! Does your dog have any destructive habits like chewing or barking that need to be managed? Is your dog comfortable around other dogs, cats or children? What routines make him or her feel most comfortable. Do they enjoy a run or trip to the dog park? Are they shy or extroverted. I love all types of dogs, and can work with most, but it's important to know of any behavioral quirks or issues beforehand!
