Hi, I’m Amanda. I couldn’t imagine life without dogs – they bring me as much comfort as I bring to them. I treat every pooch as if they are my own. My husband and I don't have kids, so we often refer to our pups as our kids. I adopted my first dog when I was 16 years old. I actually brought two canines home and told my parents I was keeping both of them. They gave in and said I could keep one, but I had to find a home for the other. Luckily, my cousin took the other pup, and they were both part of our family for over 15 years. I’ve been a huge dog person ever since. Although I don’t have professional experience looking after dogs, I have done some occasional pet sitting for family and friends. I like sitting and walking because it allows me to be part of more pups’ lives. My husband and I live in Midtown in a renovated 1950s home in the Beacon Hill neighborhood. We have a private fenced-in backyard. We love our community and stay up-to-date on any news or events through our neighborhood’s Facebook page. The best part of our area is the linear park we are connected to as well as several children’s parks and a community garden. My furry guests will love going on walks in the park near my home. I will be the primary caregiver for your fur baby. However, my husband and our dogs will be friendly and excited about any animals staying with us. Our dogs love making new friends! My husband and I enjoy hanging out in our backyard or going to the beach during the nicer months. We try to make it to South Padre Island every year to visit the sea turtles – I absolutely love turtles! We are big on ocean and sea turtle conservation. We are also avid believers in reducing our use of single-use plastics and have been straw-free for a few years now.
