I strive for happy + healthy pets!

Pet care experience

* I HAVE A PUP! Please see below * References available * Added fee for livestock, gerbils, birds, etc. Hello and thank you for stopping by! I'm Amanda, 28, animal lover born and raised in small town Maine. I'm a landscaper working along the coast on weekdays (flexible days and hours with weekends off) with pet-sitting in between. My pup Wally LOVES other dogs and is neutral to cats and chickens. He’s 1 year old, 17 lbs, neutered, mixed breed. I find caring for animals to be incredibly rewarding, it’s one of my greatest passions and joys life so naturally Rover is the best way to supplement my income. I believe every animal is intelligent and unique and the importance of looking after them and giving them unconditional love is something that's always come natural to me. Patience, attentiveness, and having a nurturing spirit all come with that too. I'm attentive, responsible, caring, communicative, and have extensive experience with children as well as pets (I nannied throughout high school and Au-paired in Munich in college). I adopted Wally (my first dog that’s all my own!) from a shelter in Peru in June 2023 during my time volunteering there. He’s super easy going and is just happy to be by my side, or running around with new dog friends! He grew up around tons of other dogs, chickens, geese, bunnies, alpacas, and has been around lots of different cats of different demeanors. For family pets we've adopted three cats, a German Shepard, Black Lab/Collie mix, Golden Retriever, Black Lab/Pit-bull mix, hamsters, mice, fish, and our current family pet is a 16-year-old Yorkie. I have professional experience caring for a variety of animals, from daily check-ins on a 90 lb Pitbill and his Dachshund sisters to overnights with an elderly pup, house cat, and 15 chickens. I've also volunteered at animal shelters in the various places I’ve lived. Our pets are a precious and important part of our family units and I put my all into caring for those I've been entrusted with. I follow all instructions very carefully (when they eat, if they can go off-leash in the yard, if they're allowed on the furniture, etc.), and spend quality time with them while you're away. I've been told I have a positive and loving energy that animals are drawn to. I put effort into matching their energy, whether that's excitable and super friendly or more laid-back. Each animal is unique with their own special little personality, and understanding and respecting that helps me build rapport with them. I realize what a sensitive (sometimes confusing or difficult) time being apart from their family can be, so it's really my top priority to be a great source of comfort and stability for them and to provide as much warmth and positive energy as I can. It's also my priority to ensure you are confident in leaving them with me. I'm respectful, responsive, and a great communicator and always do an in-person meet and greet beforehand. I like to be introduced to them while you're there so they know you know me and will hopefully recognize me when I return; and so we can make sure they’re okay with Wally in their space. I always send tons of pictures so you can count on frequent updates too; we can even do a FaceTime check-in so you can see how we're doing! I know it's hard being away from your pets so anything I can do to set your mind at ease and reassure you that they are being very well taken care of is my absolute pleasure :) Thank you for reading my notes and considering me as your pets' loving caretaker! Please let me know if you have any questions and hope to hear from you soon. Very best, Amanda and Wally PS: have you ever heard of Cat TV? It's on YouTube and super entertaining for them. They can sit and watch the mice or birds go by, just watch they don't scratch up the screen! I like to limit this to 20 minutes max then play with them immediately afterward so they are able to get their paws on something real!

Amanda did great with both our dogs! She kept us well informed, sent photos, and kept them on their medication schedule. I would highly recommend Amanda for petsitting!

Amanda is kind, considerate and extremely capable. She looked after my house, dog and cat for over two weeks while I was away - and had complete peace of mind that they were well taken care of. Amanda was very communicative before I left (we met a few times to go over everything) and during my trip I received regular updates and photos. My pets took to her immediately and my dog especially loved that Amanda's dog (Wally) also came to stay! Wally is very sweet and well behaved. When I returned, my house was clean, my mail and packages had been brought in, and my animals were happy. I can highly recommend Amanda for housesitting and petsitting, she's trustworthy and a delight to talk to.

Amanda was an amazing, reliable, caring companion for our pets and home while we were away. Excellent communication, proactive about staying in touch and sharing information, but above all I felt so relaxed and confident about our dogs and cats in her care. There’s nothing worse than being away and feeling uncertain about who you’ve left your fur babies with, and with Amanda I had no doubt they were in great hands!

If you read what Amanda wrote about herself, you can absolutely believe every word. She took care of our two dogs and gave them such loving care and was very attentive to their needs. She is an excellent communicator and is responsible, experienced, and conscientious in all aspects of her job. Plus she is a delightful person to know. We highly recommend her and look forward to having her sit for us again.

I’m very attentive and make sure to give all pets tons of love and care how THEY want it - from high-energy play to low-energy cuddles with lots of pets in-between! We can take walks or runs, play with squeaky-toys, have a fur-brushing time, etc.

Information Amanda D. would like to know about your pet

- Do they require medication? - Do they have any health conditions (including pregnancy) or unusual allergies? - Veterinarian information - Are they good with other dogs? - Have they had other dogs in the house before? - Are they neutered/spayed? - Their routine (mealtimes, etc.) and rules (allowed on furniture, etc.) - Are there any other animals in/at the house (chickens, livestock, gerbils, birds, etc.)?

A typical day

For high-energy dogs it's definitely a priority to make sure they get out and play! Fetch is great as are walks, jogs, dog parks, and playful games like hide-and-seek. During the week we’d typically have a walk or play on the morning then again when I get back in the afternoon - depending on their schedule too of course. Weekends are more freed up. Wally is down for anything anytime and makes a great companion to tag-along, but is also cool with staying behind.

I recently started landscaping on week days from 9-5 but days and hours are flexible so I can still Rover in-between (I can go in later, get out earlier, take days off, etc.). I’m also pretty free on weekends. I’m very attentive and make sure to give all pets adequate love and care while their people are away.
