Availability
Petsitting is my full time job. I do have regular walk and drop-in clients so if I am doing an overnight sitting for you, I will come and go throughout the day for these visits and to care for my own pets. Each day looks different based on my clients needs, so some days may have more availability than others. I am available most days & holidays, however this is subject to change based on when I travel as an athlete for competitions. Have a question? Feel free to ask!

Safety, trust & environment
I will always treat your pets with lots of love and am very respectful to boundaries with both your pet (e.g., pup only wants pets on their back, kitty needs time to warm up) and your home. I will follow their typical routine as close as possible and send updates at least 2-3 times a day for overnights, and updates on scheduled walks or visits. Safety is my number one priority, so I do all I can to keep your pet safe, happy, and secure! Have a long trip but you feel uneasy leaving until you build rapport with your sitter? I highly recommend scheduling a short trip (one night or two) or a series of walks or drop-ins ahead of your trip so you and your pets can get to know me. This often makes those longer trips much easier as I am then already a friend to your pets.
Information Amanda C. would like to know about your pet
I always like to know about the routine my clients follow with their pets and I follow that routine as close as possible. Are there any behaviors that I should be aware of during walks or in general? How can I make your pet feel comfortable during my stay/visit with them? How can I best make you feel comfortable while you are away? What are your evacuation plans for your pets in case of a fire? How would you prefer me to handle an emergency with your pet? Do you have any visitors to your home that I should be aware of (e.g., gardeners, cleaning service, pool cleaning) so I know what to expect. Clear directions help me get things right. I’ll always ask if I’m not sure on something. At our initial meeting, please show me where care related items are. Having clear, written instructions helps me. Once I’ve done your pets routine, I generally have it memorized, but having readily accessible notes helps me provide the best quality care.
A typical day
I always like to follow their typical routine as close as possible as I find pets do best when they know what to expect! I am happy to take your pup on neighborhood walks if permitted. Play time and cuddles are always available for your pup during my stay! If I am previously booked during a time your pet has a routine (e.g., feeding, walking) I will communicate this with you when we are booking to make sure the next best time is a good option.

Pet care experience
Hi! Thank you for taking the time to visit my profile and learn about my experience petsitting! I have a lifetime of experience caring for my family's pets and neighbors pets in my youth. Professionally, I have over 16 years of paid experience petsitting with many clients using me for 8+ years. Caring for animals is my full-time job and I love it! I am college educated and hold both a BA and MA. I am ABD on a Ph.D (but sadly will not be finishing due to a medical diagnosis). Prior to petsitting full time, I was a teacher and worked with children in a variety of capacities, so I have passed one of the strictest background checks. I am an experienced sitter who knows how to handle emergencies and has strong communication skills. I pay close attention to your pets and learn what their normal is - if I spot something that seems unusual - you are the first to know and we work together on next steps. Safety is a big deal to me and I always make sure your pets are secure. When I am walking them, I use a walker belt in most situations to make sure they are attached to me at all times. I've been told by clients that I am a pet whisperer and have successfully befriended some of the most shy and anxious dogs and cats. I am easily able to match a pets energy and understand animal behavior well. I have tons of patience so I listen to an animal's cues to let me know how to proceed. This has helped me work with a variety of temperaments and personalities and cater each service to you and your pets specific needs and expectations. While I am not a certified trainer, I do know the basics and can work with your pup on walks. Have particular commands or behaviors you are working on during walks? Let me know and I'll keep things as consistent as possible. I am very experienced with overnight sitting. My shortest sitting was one day and the longest was over 3 weeks. I provide updates at least 2-3 times a day with photos (I love pet photography!) and often times more unless you prefer less updated. With a sitting, if your pet goes on regular walks, I'll take them on walks, and follow their feeding schedule, and administer medications if needed. I am experienced in giving all kinds of medications such as oral injections, pills, ear and eye drops, and insulin. With overnight care, I'll stay overnight in your home and follow their routine as close as possible, leaving to do other walks and visits, as well as my own training and care for my pets, but all remaining time is spent with your pets. I can bring in packages, mail, bring/return trash bins to the curb, water plants, and do light housekeeping. I do offer additional services (e.g., grocery shopping prior to your return, errands) to make your life a little easier upon return, but these must be planned in advance to ensure it fits in my schedule - and these are at an additional fee. Ask for details if you are interested! Walks are in your neighborhood and customized to your pet. I offer walks starting at 30 mins and can modify duration up to 2 hours. Drop-In Visits are in your home and do not include walks, unless you do not have a yard, in this case, I take them on a very quick potty break. Drop-Ins are great for meals, companionship, medication administration, litter box cleaning, etc. They start at 30 minutes but can be customized for longer. Whether you have a new puppy, an energetic puller on walks, a shy pet, a super senior, or a special needs pet, I have you covered! Reach out if you have any questions and would like to set up a meet and greet to make sure we are a good match! Thank you for your time and consideration!
